You know the deal. 25% off. They often don’t have as good prices as some of the online only pet stores but usually it’s not bad with these codes. They also have cash rewards.

Enjoy

except that it's not site wide…

I just checked, the code saved me 1.09 from my $192 order.

      • Yep, $10 approx from the $170 product I was looking at.

Still far cheaper from other places online.

        • Which other places are cheaper? I thought these Petbarn deals looked good but I'll avoid if there's somewhere better.

        • @NigelTufnel: Great list.

The Vet Shed are the ones I've most recently used but it seems to vary whenever I buy things (once 12-18 months). My dogs are very basic so just buying food from Woolies but NexGard and Interceptor I'll shop around for because the price varies hugely.

        • @NigelTufnel: Thanks for that. I'll check them out and see where is cheapest for the things I need.

  • Yesterday Blackhawk lamb and rice was $81 for a 20kg bag, today it's $86 with this code

Are pet food retailer discounts the new "closing down sale" of rug retailers?

    • Last night they had 30% off it was only for a few hours they sent text messages to members but the special was site wide. Grab all my dog food for $87 looks like its $93 now.

      • Damn, that's when I looked, wish I ordered then

        • I'll post up next time I get the text, but seems to happen quarterly and the 25% off is fortnightly or so

  • Petbarn sometimes has 30% of almost everything, they are good but not this one unfortunately.

  • 25% off happens every week… it's like masters b4 they went out of business.

    • Now they're gone, bunnings has cranked their prices up

  • damn has royal canin food gone up in price?
feels like theyve changed packaging and ramped up their prices. wish they had kept low prices and same packaging

    • I don’t think royal canin has changed much.

Usually about $90 a bag for the 12kg ones. Being buying them every 3 months.

Please for the love of your dog stop buying Royal Canin. Besides being pricey it is a bad food. For the money you spend there are much better dog foods available. Have a look at their ingredient list and please do better

        • I don't understand that neg. It is a valid opinion in which I agree.

        • @Colombian: Our vet and breeder recommended it.

There aren’t that many specialist foods

        • @knick007:

          Was talking in general terms

here is a comparison of top ingredients:

          Royal canin
dehydrated poultry protein, corn, corn flour, animal fats, wheat, rice, corn gluten, hydrolysed animal proteins, beet pulp, fish oil, soya oil, minerals, yeasts, hydrolysed crustaceans , hydrolysed cartilage

compare it to a similar priced good food eg Stay Loyal
Turkey Meal, Pork Meal, Salmon Meal, Sweet Potato, Tapioca, Chicken Fat, Green Peas, Green Beans, Natural Chicken Flavour, Green Lentils, Kelp, Fish Oil, Fruits and Vegetables (Apples, Broccoli, Blueberries, Carrots, Kale, Spinach, Tomato)

Royal canin is owned by Mars, the chocolate people
I don't know if vets get meals at conferences overseas by Mars, and therefore promote it or if breeders get free bags of dog food to promote it. Royal Canin also promotes different shaped kibble, for different breeds but come with near identical ingredients. A wonderful marketing tool, but the same rubbish fillers.

Why else would they be promoting expensive food filled with corn, wheat, rice and poultry (which bird is it). Why should they be promoting Aussie foods like Ivory Coat/ Stay Loyal, which are not owned by Multinationals, nor have inexpensive fillers but are filled with good stuff. All about the $$ methinks

The breeder from whom I got my dog, promotes Royal Canin. My vet promotes Hills Science (another rubbish brand)

        • @docians:

Why should they be promoting Aussie foods like Ivory Coat/ Stay Loyal, which are not owned by Multinationals

Technically Ivory Coat (Real Pet Food Co) is now owned by an Asian consortium (Hose Capital.

Still good food though. I happily feed it to my dog over Hills or Royal Canin.

Technically Ivory Coat (Real Pet Food Co(realpetfoodco.com.au)) is now owned by an Asian consortium (Hose Capital(abc.net.au).

          good to know!
still made in Australia and good food
          plus as per their website

for every bag of dry dog or cat food you buy, we're donating stock feed to Aussie farming families doing it tough. We're shooting for a whopping 160,000kg of help!

  • I use Petcircle for everyday savings, and their shipping is 1-2 express. Petbarn took forever, and I also use Budget Pet Products as they have some great deals.

Unfortunately 25% off is a joke, it's actually only 5% more without using the Autoship option saving of 20% on some brands.

It's still cheaper by a few bucks than the everyday price of Petcircle but I appreciate the 24-48 hour shipping and the fact I don't see joke sales like Petbarn.
