After a bout of food poisoning been trying to become more hygenic and get separate chopping boards for meat/non meat products. Found these which fit the ball, comes with antislip material on the bottom to stop sliding around.

Wood was rejected for kitchen use, as it can be scratched. Then again, wood dries out, whereas these retain moisture in their scratches.
I'll stick with my ebony board, maintained by exposure to sunlight and a rinse with vinegar and drying after chopping meat or anything 'juicy'. Most cooks put a tea-towel under the board.
Not a bad price for a set tho.
