High Pressure Washer $99, Paint Compressor $39, Plasterboard Sander $149 @ ALDI

Thanks, I'll go down to Bunnings and check them out.

    • Hehehehe like your thinking

    • Save an extra 10c to $1 on the same items at Bunnings

      • +1

And probably get better warranty and dedicated returns counter

    • The previous Aldi high pressure cleaners seem to have different PSIs. Has anyone bought this? Any good? How is the water flow rate? Does this have a metal or plastic pump? How does it compare to the Ryobi one at Bunnings?

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-1800w-2000psi-pressure-was…

Damn, Ryobi was $100 yesterday but it's now $119

  • Damn today I just bought the 65" hisense from the Ebay 20% sale :/

    • +36

      Hisense > Bauhn

      • +4

Yes but it's more than twice the price, too (nearly $1500 delivered)

        • +1

It's better getting a TV you can actually see before you buy it than one you can't. You know what you're getting. That said, I've bought 3 TVs from Kogan, and have only been disappointed with 1.

        • I already have a 65" Bauhn TV which I thought was still OK (just a bit of vertical banding). I wanted another one but wasn't sure when it would ever be available again, so I pulled the trigger today on the Hisense. Too late now :)

        • +4

@webbiegareth: You wont regret it, hisense has 3 year onsite warranty and a really great picture quality

        • +3

          @flaminglemon:
It’s 33.3% failure rate, or disappointment. Not good enough.

    • Can you (or anyone please share the link? Thank you …

    • Wrong post.

  • Are the Bauhn TV's good for the price?

    • also wanting to know this, it seems too good to be true. i have a soniq tv at the moment, it's not bad, surely bauhn is on par or better than soniq.

      • +2

On par. Bang for your buck, particularly in terms of size, and the missus doesn't notice quality (I do, but I'll wait till OLED gets sub-2k)

Have the 65 inch since 2016, still going great when used with chromecast.

        • +1

cool thanks, i really couldn't care less about video quality as long as it's clear enough to see the image.

        • I also still have the 65" one too, I'm happy with the performance. The only issue is it has some minor vertical banding that can be seen in some scenes but for the price I really can't complain too much.

        • @webbiegareth:

I suggest seeing if you don't mind turning the brightness down a few notches, I did and it completely solved the banding problem on my Kogan and doesnt affect my viewing (although I usually watch in a dark room)

        • is it bright enough in daylight ?

        • is the PQ good enough for the bedroom?

Wanting this for my wife to watch FTAT, Netflix and the occasional movie when we cbf going to the living room.

        • @johnthepg: I have the JVC 48" from big w which was shown to be the same unit as the Bauhn 48" and I have no issues whatsoever. Being 4K the image is very sharp, I use my xbox one s as the source and 4k looks fine. With the brightness right up to max there is a little bit of light bleeding but that's way too bright a setting and at normal settings it look damn near perfect

    • I have a 65" one. Very happy with it.

    • Got a Bauhn 55-inch one almost 2 years.
Still going great, never seen any banding or spots

  • Just for interest sake, my local store (Labrador) already has the Philips 22" on the floor.

    • That's because it was on sale last week (or maybe two weeks ago)

      • touche

    • +10

your local store is a dog?

      • +9

        That's a bit ruff

  • +1

    Coca-Cola 36 pack - $20.99 (58c/can) - cheaper per unit than Woolworths 24 cans for $14.10

If you're using 5% off Wish cards, is cheaper at Woolies (56c/can)

  • the 60inch is not 4k is it?

  • Anyone know what the paint compressor is like?

    • +2

I've bought one from them previously about the same price (but haven't seen it in the catalogue to know if its the same or not) and it was pretty good. You absolutely must take it apart every time you finish using it and clean it thoroughly or it will clog and spray poorly next time

    • I noticed Bunnings hasn't moved the price on Ozito to match this.

  • Books $6.99
    Captain Underpants
    The Bad Guys
    David Williams books
    Anh Do paperbacks
    Diary of a Wimpy Kid
    Andy Griffiths

I suspect ALDI means Walliams, which is his professional name (stage name, nom de plume).

    • Thanks, fixed.

  • On sale Saturday 15/9
    Coca-Cola 36 pack - $20.99 (58c/can) - cheaper per unit than Woolworths 24 cans for $14.10
Bauhn 6-" Ultra HD TV resolution 3840 x 2160 built in HD tuner, PVR record, USB, HDMI - $599

    world's smallest HD TV ? :)

    • Fixed.

    • +1

      6" is average size…

      • Thats what she said

  • Underpants - check.
    Captain - also check.

  • Can anyone advise the flow rate of the pressure washer? Was looking for one at bunnings yesterday but held off after reading on another thread here that the flow rate is critical for a good result.

Don’t have the catalogue unfortunately and it’s not appearing online.

    • I don’t know the flow rate specs, but I bought this a couple years back, and wasn’t overly impressed tbh.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/238902
Not saying the washer was bad, probably better than similar priced from Bunnings, but not up to scratch for anything but easy jobs. I didn’t use it very much and the pressure switch failed.
Obviously not the same unit so ymmv

  • Anyone know the warranty period with the Bauhn TV?

    • +1

      Usually a year.

    • +1

Under 30 Day swap at store, 1-2 years outside of that with Bauhn themselves.

  • Anyone mounted one of these TV's before? Would you get just an ordinary cheapo bracket off eBay?

    • Just standard VESA mounts, varies upon size of the TV. Normally when they have TV sales, they usually have accessories like wallmounts etc.

    • One from eBay will be fine, just check the weight ratings first and get a suitably beefy one.

    • +1

Check to see if there’s a tv bracket at your local Aldi. Picked one up the other day for $20. Got another one in the bedroom and it’s good for the price

    • +2

I have the 65" version and use the $51 bracket from Selby accoustics.

      https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/TV-Bracket-Wall-Mount-Swivel-42-47…

      • Plus 1 for Selby, I picked up cheaper units from eBay and they werent up to scratch

  • +1

As always the bargain will be ~4 weeks later when they get discounted at stores with stock left.

    • +1

You are right but i get the feeling these wont hang around

      • +2

The TV's seem to be moving pretty slowly at the stores near me these days.
Unfortunately the managers also are pretty slow to discount them too.

  • Is the Bauhn a Smart TV?

    • No. It has PVR recoding and media playback but its limited & basically useless.

The TV is SLOW and basic quality LED

      Buy a dual tuner (topfeild) PVR or a PS4/XBOX (I recommend a xbox-s) for netflix/prime/foxtel ect…

      • Slow to change channels?

        • +1

its a very very basic tv. its been a long running model and its not gotten any love for a long time

TCL P20 60" HDR/Netflix for $1k is a better deal or jbhifi SONIQ

        • @srhardy:
So you would recommend people not buy this 60" Bauhn then?

  • +2

I think I found the user manual.

  • Thanks for posting the manual…

I had a bit of a read, I don't think HDR was mentioned anywhere. :( I'm after a cheap ≥ 60 inch 4k HDR TV for gaming with decent gaming performance and image quality.

  • Are these pressure washers good for washing cars? Any recommendations anyone? Got ripped off bad by a car wash recently and decided I'll start doing everything at home. It'll be used frequently.

    • Interested too. This is 2600PSI which seems equivalent to ~$300 bunnings ones….

  • interested to see how the drone flies. easy to handle etc

  • Anyone know if the Paint Compressor, is suitable for a Pool Paving product called Crommelin? The brochure says it needs an airless spray.

  • +2

Grabbed one of the 60" TVs yesterday as we've got some mates coming over on the weekend to watch the footy so wanted a big TV for the rumpus room. There's no doubt better options for similar money but not with the same 60 return policy ;)

I gave it a test last night playing some FTA TV side by side with my 54" Pana plasma and after a few tweaks the picture is looking half decent. The 8yr old plasma is much better, especially on SD channels, but the Bauhn is fit for purpose and has no obvious issues at this point.

One thing I do like is that it came with a 2nd remote. Function is limited to power, volume, channels and input selection so will be great for the kids.

  • My mum actually grabbed one, and to be honest the media player is horrible.

My Samsung lets me sort out files different ways, also remembers where I stopped watching a file. This is so basic, it's good damm stupid.

It seems I cant sort out files in a different order, it won't play 75% of media files and when it does after 3-5 minutes it pops up with unsupported file type.

    This can't be normal?

  • Has anyone had issues with connecting a MacBook Air to the Aldi TV?
