  • Hopefully can do CashRewards on this promo too.
    4.20% cashback.
I have my sights set on a pair. Gonna check them out in store first though.
This promo still has 3 and a bit days left so I have some time

I have my sights set on a pair.

Pun intended, or just happy coincidence?

  • You should post an example of a bargain.

I think a lot of these look cheaper at Jomahop

    • Those are U.S. prices, also shipping to Australia wouldnt be free either.
The ones I want are on sale for 185.
99 on that US site. Conversion rate and shipping cost would put it above.

    • True, Just compared the "Justin polarised" model and it's about $20AUD cheaper (with a $5usd off coupon my browser found) buying from that US Store. Whether the $20 cheaper is enough for someone to buy internationally or not is up to them, but it is cheaper.

      • Nothing wrong with Joma. They've been around a very long time. Look for codes online like Slick Deals.

    • Examples added. Jomashop may be cheaper, for some people that is great. I am happy to pay extra for Australian Warranty, and Australian shipping.

      • Whatever makes you happy mate. Always good to have options. Best to add some examples as people will be more inclined to click through.

  • Few days ago I saw Ray ban was being sold at Costco around $150-170. I think it is different model. Can anyone tell me what is the most difference between this one and normal brand like $70-$90?

    • Not much. Probably owned by the same company too. You should google Luxottica.. be prepared for a shock about just what that company owns.
The monopoly most people have never heard of.

    • +1

The other comment who mentioned Luxottica is correct.

Primarily the main difference between any of the 'big brands' and the cheaper sunglasses are just marketing. They pay famous people to wear their sunnies and this attracts people who want to be seen wearing the same brand as their fav band or sports person. Secondly the difference is more time spent on development, so the expensive ones might be more comfortable, or lighter or more durable or more stylish (because they use more complex/expensive production for example). But there's no guarantee they are any more durable then the cheapies. Its mostly the marketing. For example Ray Ban is the most recognised sunglasses brand around. There's pictures going back decades of famous and wealthy people wearing wayfarers (like JFK) and this attracts the consumers who form their identity through the stuff they own.

      • hmm, save money to other things then.

      • Ahh the price of fashion…

If we weren't such vain creatures, we'd all be wearing an orange jumpsuit & crocs.. oh wait…
