so should we wait for 19% when ebay have their 19th bday soon?

    • You're a silly one, aren't you.

  • Can these coupon codes be used with an eBay voucher/gift card I purchased via that PayPal sale

    • +2

You can use this with ebay gift card but not voucher. I found this the hardway as i had converted my flybuys to tiny $25 voucher but later found out they don't stack with other codes since that was a voucher..
      Good with giftcards.

      • I got confused with this. So gift cards and vouchers are different?

        • Apparently voucher and giftcard are different. You cant use a evoucher with say penny5 code which is also a voucher. But giftcard is good

        • Oh okay got it. Cheers!

  • I really can't get excited by these "x%-off" deals when the eBay checkout system is broken. I often fill up my cart with 10-30 items, but when it comes time to checkout, I get "an unknown error has occurred". This forces me to check out one item at a time. Wasting a 20% coupon on a single $2 item hurts more than not getting a coupon in the first place.

    • +1

I think there’s a maximum of 10 items in your cart for most coupon codes per transaction. And a maximum of two transactions. Have a squiz at the T & C.

      • I know there's a limit of 10 items to take advantage of a coupon. Anything more than that used to get bumped to a new transaction. But there is something broken with their checkout, coupon or not, that fails with an unhelpful error message if you try to check out with more than two or three items. They know about it but haven't fixed it. It started happening after 1st July, when their new GST billing system was imposed. I'm upset that I'm forced to check out one item at a time, which makes the coupon incentives next to worthless.

    • I had something similar happen the other week with the UK discount. 3 items went through and the 4th didn't without any explanation or warning. I didn't even realise until I double checked the other day.

    • Currently waiting for a package and F5'ing the ebay order page to check tracking. Only sometimes I'm hitting F5 over and over without checking tracking because the "shipping details" link is not there.

Sometimes it's there when you load the page, sometimes it isn't. Seems random.

      Bizarre website behavior.

  • can i buy now and pay tomorrow after 10am?

    • +1

This has been the case previously.

      • so it is yes or nay?

        • In 15 minutes we'll know.

        • Yes.

  • +1

For anyone curious, anything bought using coupons and gcs are not eligible for the 5% price beat guarantee. Found out today when I thought I'd try the price beat thing. No dice.

  • +1

Not sure I'm happy with the soft 'P' at the start of the coupon code.

  • Why is there a tiny block of yellow next to "Redemption" in the T&Cs?

  • I asked this on another recent deal but didn't quite get a definitive answer:

I've had some items sitting in my ebay cart for several days now. If I click through from CR and then checkout will they be eligible for cashback? (If it matters, I had clicked through from CR before adding them to my cart).

    • +2

ive done this before with no issues with the receiving the cashback as CR tracks when the link is clicked and when a purchase is made, not when things are subsequently added.

  • +1

    Search link anyone?

    • +7
      • Perfect! Thanks for putting the effort in

        • +2

          It's sitewide you gronk

      It's sitewide?

      • whats the subject of this thread says?

  • -2

    any bargains?

  • Awesome, I need some postage stamps

  • 10% off this is making me VERY tempted to cancel my preorder. Just wish it could guarantee day one delivery before slapping down the dosh…

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Marvels-Spider-Man-PS4-Game-NEW-…

  • can I just say there is a way to get 20% off using the PAIR20 code by bending the rules a bit. I did and got what I wanted for 20% off and the rest of the money for the other item back … Just gotta be resourceful.

    • Do you mean by canceling one of the item by any chance?

      • I think it’s against the rules for me to say (hence comment got negged) but essentially yes. And as long as you pay via debit card/credit card you won’t run into the problem of them taking the voucher amount off the refund. Whether it just worked for me, I’m unsure.

        • But aren't you only effectively getting 10% off anyway using PAIRS20?

        • @jdogg: No because, the item you want should be the lesser one so it'll attract eh 20% off, then find an item which is $1 more (or create a listing yourself) and buy both at the same time, cancel the item you don't want shortly after ordering and get it refunded. As long as you use a card instead of PayPal it should refund you the total amount without deduction of the ebay voucher. Thus you get 20% off the item you actually wanted and the other item completely refunded.

        • @Akilatks:
So you can't pay with ebay gift card?

        • @jdogg: Does this actually work?

Working for anyone? Says not ready still or am i missing something?

    • It starts at 10AM AEST.

      • Oh right, got used to having 1 hour difference with Sydney etc

    • it's not 10am yet

  • +1

Thanks TA. I just voted you to 444! I love tidy numbers and my arthritic dog gets a $100 ramp from ebay to avoid steps.

  • come on 10am.
i tried to put xiaomi mi max 3 on my cart and shocked to see the gst. no way i am going to pay gst. will just ask some friends to bring over. damn. my hard earned cash.

    • +1

no way i am going to pay gst

Checked any of your store receipts for the last 18 years?

      • +1

He's only ever bought raw meat until now, god knows what a dragon wants with a xiaomi mi max 3.

  • +1

    does this stack with cashrewards?

    • Yes it does. Voucher appears on cashrewards site.

Just purchased Eames dining table and chairs and confirm code worked - woohoo.

  • +1

We ran into a problem. Please try again later.

    • Not good

    • I’m getting this on my main account everytime I try to use AU-related vouchers after having moved to the US, to UK, and back to AU.

  • Tks op, bought some figures from Japan which current deal offsets the GST.

  • +1

Picked up an nVidia Shield w/remote for $231.30 shipped.

  • Ebay charged GST on the price prior to the discount. Makes me angry 😣

    • really thats not correct, we should pay gst on the amount we actually pay? or maybe not…

      • +2

The seller gets the full price, ebay makes up the discount you get, meaning the sale price is identical for GST purposes.

        • Thanks, yes I figured that was the case. Still annoying the 10% discount doesnt even cover it but its better than nothing!

  • Something went wrong. Please try to check out again.

    whatttt

  • +1

It doesn't work. "We ran into a problem" no matter what I try to buy; yes I logged into paypal first.

    • someone need to run faster than ebay…

  • Nearly bought a tv but max $100 :(

  • Code isnt working for me…

  • Is anyone able to tell me whether the 10% also applies to best offers?

I asked about a product a couple of days ago (before the 10% sale started) and got an offer back, but when I review the offer, the first step just shows me the offer price ($740), and no where does it mention the current 10% discount.

    • +2

Yes it does! Once you accept the offer, go to checkout and apply the code.

  • code doesnt work…

'We ran into a problem. Please try again later.'

  • code doesnt work…

'We ran into a problem. Please try again later.'

    ditto

  • +1

    Code works fine for me.

  • +1

For some reason if I have more than 7 items in my cart, it comes up with the error and won't let me checkout!!! Error codes: 70245 70438

  • +1

    Not working.

"We ran into a problem. Please try again later."

  • Code worked for me with 2 seperate transactions.

    One transaction for AUS stuff.

One for US stuff + Global shipping + Import Charges + Who knows what fudge else (extra $4 - probably currency conversion???)
All that shit added together still cheaper than buying locally. That's if I can even find it locally at all.

    All transactions went through Ebay.com.au.

  • Has anyone worked out how to get around the horrid "We ran into a problem" error screen that stops payment from going through? Happening on both of my accounts, and different PayPal accounts. Frustrating as hell.

  • Works for BBQ Galore, but the 9 piece dining set i want is not listed on Ebay

  • not working for me. saying it ran into problems

  • Applied my discount code for $624 of goods and my discount was $44.93?

    • were there shipping costs in that $624? They're not discounted.

      • Shipping was free over $300… it’s dan Murphy’s, so unless alcohol is limited?

  • +1

This code can't be applied to your order. I didn't choose anything from the exclusion list and only checking out a couple of items. What the..

    • Having the same issue…

    • same here..

    • Same, did you manage to get it resolved?

    • It’s ok I worked it out!

  • "We ran into problems."

Has anyone been able to make this coupon work recently?

    • Yep, it worked for me 20~30mins ago without any probs.

  • Can someone confirm that this end September 3 at 11:59PM?

    • +2

      From eBay's T&Cs:

Offer Period. This offer commences at 10.00 (AEST) on 31 August and ends at 23.59 (AEST) on 3 September 2018 (“Offer Period”).

  • not working for me TOO. saying it ran into problems.:(

  • "Something went wrong. Please try to check out again" was the message I got last night and today at the end of the check-out process.

Do people face the same issue?

    • I had a chat with an eBay Rep. I was told in the end that the problem was not with eBay itself but rather with thegoodguys Australia (where phenom didn't work nor another code given by eBay). eBay hopes that this technical issue should be resolved within 24 hrs, and that I should contact eBay again later to get 10% off the item I wanted to buy from TGG eBay if I cannot apply the code tomorrow.

  • Just tried to put an order in for 2x items for $94.60 total:

"We ran into a problem. Please try again later." when trying to use the code.

  • Does anyone know if Officeworks Ebay click and collect uses store stock - Its telling me the printer I want is available to collect by Thursday but I know the store has a 'shop'load of them on display - would like to save the 10% but dont want to wait
    Thanks

    • Officeworks aren't part of any eBay promo.

  • Still not working…

  • Worked for me just then btw.

  • +3

"We ran into a problem. Please try again later."

Still dead, even on an item that's advertising itself as being PHENOM compatible.

The error message is completely useless and doesn't give any idea as to what went wrong. Might as well say 'Bad thing happened, here be dragons, the end'

    • Might as well say 'Bad thing happened, here be dragons, the end'

That would be a more useful as it pretty much says "thermal overload".

    • Same error message, rang Ebay, they said many others are having the same issue, they put me on a list and said ring tomorrow and they will issue me a code so i dont miss out on the discount, call 1800 322 928 asap.

  • Absolute joke, dan Murphy’s cancelled both my orders because of a “delivery address issue”
