Pro doesn't play 4k discs, this is a great player one of the few with Dolby Atmos and Vision. The 2 HDMI out is also awesome. As most there's not a lot of support for Atmos and Vision over same cable where this player allows Atmos HDMI into AMP and Vision HDMI into the TV.
Tossing up between this and the UB420 or UB400. Don’t have 4K tv yet so DV not a big concern but nice for future proofing.
I do have an Atmos set up though so need something that will at least Bitstream it to AVR.
I have a Panna ST60 so Viera Link is “nice” but my experience with Panna apps on the TV is poor. I would use ABC and SBS catch up apps.
Any views on which would downscale HDR better? The guts of the Panna are the same as premier models. Not sure if this makes it > the Sony…
There's no downscaling HDR, feature just won't turn on but if you mean downscale HDR. It would be the player doing it so wouldn't worry

If you've no need for a player yet then I'd wait I reckon. You'll get a better player if you buy it with your 4k TV. I bought a player just before star wars ep8 came out in April and now am wanting one of the new generation players (think this Sony is last gen, need to check that though). Wait and you'll get something that's Dolby vision and hdr10+ maybe??

I would but I already have the Atmos set up and it will probably be another two years before I upgrade the tv. Was just getting a cheap one now to do me through to whatever is current when the TV is replaced.
Does an Xbox One X do similar stuff? Probably not all the fancy Dolby stuff?
Microsoft have announced they're gonna patch Dolby Vision into the Xbox One, so I don't think there's a need if you already have one.

Not confirmed for discs. Its only for streaming apps at the moment.
With Cashrewards this is cheaper.
Hmmmm, should I bother with this when I have a PS4 Pro? (I believe the PS4 doesn't do legit 4k?
