Was looking online for an electronic shaver and thought this might be of interest. Free delivery for those with Prime.

From what I can tell from online reviews the Series 7 seems preferable to the Series 9 however I haven't seen a lot of reviews for this particular model. Has anyone used this model before and if so do you recommend it?

    279.2 on ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Braun-Series-7-Wet-Dry-Elect…

however amazon gives 6% cash back? and ebay 2% so might be pretty much same.

all Series7 units have identical performance.
charge and clean bases have limited functionality.
Series7 units can be had for ~$200 when on special.
I wouldn't advise getting it on this deal.
I bought my Series7 on one of eBay sales $199 delivered. No base, just the shaver. sweet as.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Looks like it'd be best to wait out for a better price to come along.

ive had one for about 5yrs or so now, still going strong. I'm not an everyday shaver so i change the cartridge head every 18-24 months. If that is the style of shaver you want you cant get any better. Wish mine would hurry up and break so i can try a rotary shaver next time … Dam those germans and their well made goods lol

    • Got mine around 4 years ago and hasn't skipped a beat either. Want to try a new shaver with these recent deals but I can't since this one still runs perfectly. Good stuff

  • I got one with travel case and I feel it doesn't really give me the shave I am looking for will probably return it, 240 is alot for me and shaving can be done cheaper with de blades

    • did you know you can change how close it shaves by pressing the buttons above/below the blue power light. I find if you pull your skin tight it gets close enough to not really make a difference to a blade shave. i changed to electric as i got sick of getting a rash and being itchy every day after a blade shave … blade shave was soo much quicker though and could be done in the shower

      • I'd have to give it a try , I was always mixed with blade shave, ill try it tomorrow

      • I assume you are referring to the 2 buttons to the sides of the blue power light named 'sensitive' and 'intensive'. I've never use them.

  • I got the 7 series with the base and been using it for about 4-5 years. I use the charge and clean base once a week (I shave every weekday) and it works fantastic.

    • Does the clean station work well? Do you think it's worth having?

Did you buy this one (AU $159.20)?

      • I think it works very well and the cartridge feels new after it goes through the clean function once a week. Ymmv. I got the 7 series posted here by OP not the 5 series from your link. I got my one from Amazon USA few years back.

        • Sorry about that. It was meant for @avidd. But thanks for your feedback.

  • I've got the 5 series with cleaning station. Got it for approx 150-160 on ebay sale from shavershop. Reviews seem to say its pretty similar in performance to the 7 series. I find the 5 series far superior to my older Remington dual foil shaver (even with brand new foil/cutter).

Just a suggestion for those who don't want to spend as much.

  • Just doesn't shave close enough for my liking.
Have a really old Remington foil shave that's much better.

  • good shaver, worth every penny

  • Not good for head shaving. I bought this specifically for that purpose and was left frustrated.

  • my 5 series just choked and died. would charge but i can't power it on. anyone know what warranty is like on the higher end german made brauns?
