A Hair Trapped inside My Laptop Screen?

This might sound funny, I think there is a hair trapped inside my laptop screen.
How can I tell it's a hair and not a crack? Is there any simple tests I can do to prove this? just need some definite tests?

A hair sample, which I found

How can I get it out?

There is no bumps or anything on the front of the screen, smooth and normal. And it's a home laptop, doesn't get carried around and not drop or anything of that sort.

Have anyone heard of similar cases or had experienced it? I saw a few posts on other forums, came across this one.

People are saying that it is indeed possible if "the LCD screen was not sealed properly at the factory"

Besides going back to the manufacturer or the place I bought the Laptop from? Is there an Ombudsman for Computers/Laptops? The laptop is 1 year and 20 days old? I think there is a warranty for 1 year only and may or may not even cover the screen, IDK. But if it's a proven factory fault, then doesn't the manufacturer have the responsibility to fix it, even after the warranty period.

Many thanks

  • Has the mark/crack/hair been visible for the last 1 year and 20 days?

    • Just yesterday

For 20 days over it's worth a try claiming statutory warranty. JB Hi-fi had something about a product costing over $500 being eligible for 2 years stautory warranty but I'm too lazy to read the wall of text (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Documents/Consumer%20Warranties%20…).

So is it a fault or a hair?

Look up your model of laptop and 'screen removal', the front bezel should clip off pretty easily allowing you access to move the lcd forward a bit so you can get the hair out.

"Is there an Ombudsman for Computers/Laptops?"

    srsly?

    • Nobody read him/her rights at checkout.

  • Use a magnifying glass & see if it's a pubic hair !
