Note: Dont use any wireless chargers with these. You'll just end up heating the metal plate and damaging it all.

    • You cant wireless charge if there is anything blocking it

      • You can wirelessly charge in cases and a lot of things. Its only if there’s metal.

        • How do you think magnetic holders work, they need a metal plate

        • @asa79:
There are magnetic holders which are designed to have wireless chargers too. It just cant be the standard metal plate.

        • @ATangk: You need metal to be magnetic

        • @asa79:
Sometimes you can get around restrictions by designing it well. This is one case. And you don’t just need metal it has to be one of the few magnetic metals.

        • @ATangk: not sure what your on about

        • @ATangk: As you can see by the picture all the plates are large, so not sure what you on about with you dont just need metal. What other magnetic surfaces are they using?

        • @asa79:
I said you can if you design it well, but don’t do it unless it’s purpose built for it.

        • @ATangk: So your saying this product is design like your saying? Otherwise what are you on about

  • does it block nfc?

  • I haven't found it to block nfc for tap payments but I do find wireless charging doesn't work.

  • This doesn't have a ball bearing like the RoidMi to allow it to pivot around without moving the air vent, does it?

Bought one coz I thought it would be good (because blitzwolf)
Turns out iPhone 6+ with a case is too heavy and just falls off.

  • I tried to use one of these with the note 8 with the plate under the case and it couldn't hold the weight. So I stuck the other plate that comes with it on the outside of the case and it works fine. The thing that clips into the airvent doesnt have any sort of pivoting action built into it.

I bought it for $8. Not recommended. The head on this one is fixed and can't adjust the visual
angle. Joybuy has some on special for less than $3.

    • Could you post the deal. Might grab one

    • Thats the point of these ones, as if they were adjustable at that size they wouldnt hold the phone firm enough

i got one of these and i am really happy with it. having said that it doesn't hold well when you rotate the phone to landscape..
Note:i am an iphone 8 user (small)

    • Is the metal plate mounted in the middle of the phone? The only issue I've had with landscape was when the metal plate is not in the middle (vertical and horizontally) - otherwise, no issue.

      • it kind of is in the middle. Are you using the rectangle or the round plate btw? i have got the rectangle one on my phone because my wife is using the round plate. And i didn't experience the round plate on landscape yet

  • Can anyone compare this to the Spigen magnetic vent mount?
I tried a few of the cheaper magnetic holders, but the magnet strength in those doesn't hold a candle to the Spigen version.

  • i've purchased one from aliexpress which has 6 x magnets opposed to the normal ones having only 4 magnets. Holds my Pixel 2 XL extremely well, never had slipping issues.

There seems to be others in the market now going for much cheaper, just search for 'car mount 6 magnet'

    • Much pricier though.
Would be good to have a deal on it.

        • Hey how did you find that one - did you just wade through them all, ignoring all the circlular ones?

Because even when I search for “6 magnet car mount” I get a million round ones that clearly aren’t 6 magnets!

Edit: That one does appear to be the cheapest 6 magnet one! Cheers!

        • Btw, the one you bought (Yianerm) has a screw to tighten the vent clip AND one to tighten the ball joint?

Hmm, may be worth paying the extra for that one then, because I find both useful!

        • @caprimulgus: no worries i search for 6 magnet car mount. Not many out there.

        • @caprimulgus: yup it hasn't come off since so pretty stable, not saying the cheaper one wouldn't do the job. Maybe give the cheaper one a go first.

  • Please help. Please recommend deal for windscreen-mounted version with swiveling head to rotate phone as desired. Vents not good location in my car.
