I don't think you can use a gift card to buy another gift card in Coles, not even a sim card, I tried.

@andylch: It is true depends on your location, cannot use a gift card to buy another gift card in most Coles in NSW. But in QLD, you can, was told by my uncle who live in Brisbane.

Also they don't allow split payment when buying gift cards, so you can't use a $50 gift card or flybuy dollars + cash to buy a $100 one
Of course you can use split payment.
e.g. For buying $100 gift card with 2 x $50 Coles giftcards:
- Simply select "gift card" to pay the full amount with the 1st $50 Coles gift card, the system will first decline but you can tell it to just deduct $50 (max available) anyway.
- The system then will ask you to pay the balance with whatever payment method you like (including the 2nd $50 Coles gift card)
It was the staff didn't let you to continue, not the system didn't allow you to do so.
Just go to another Coles store. Simple.
On Friday I purchased one using 2 coles gift cards and remainder by credit card. I use them in places that do not take American Express as when I purchase them I can use AE or get 5% discount. Still hoping to find a way to purchase the gift cards with AE. My AE gives me nearly double the points of my Master Card.

Good question. For me it's the 3 points per $ on the plat edge that I can "move" to other services.

its a good time to buy them so i can use them to pay my ato bills as most credit cards dont pay points and ato charge a fee of more then 0.15 for government charges these days. so if you buy more than 1 ie 5 x $100 coles Mc in the same transactions will you still get the BONUS POINTS 5x 1000 or does it need to be done separate 1 x $100 transactions? can linked flybuy additional card holders qualify for the points too or the main fly buy account holder needs to scan their card only?
