  • Bought a Bosch WAE20261AU from BingLee I think sometime in September. Cost me $800 with like 4-5 years of warranty.

This comes with a dryer too! I should have waited.

Edit: A pretty poor energy rating though. I think my Bosch has about 4-5 stars out of 6.

    • New energy star ratings have come into effect. I know this because I was shopping for a new washing machine and fridge recently and a lot of the newer ones had e.g. 2 star ratings with a small note saying "equivalent to 5 stars under old rating".

Not sure if there is a clear comparison of old vs. new anywhere, I had a quick look on www.energyrating.gov.au but couldnt find one.

      • The energy ratings for dryers changed a few years ago. Fridges changed late last year. I am not sure about washing machines, however, as www.energyrating.gov.au have the old rating alongside the new rating for fridges, only, I'd say it was just fridges. I might be wrong.

  • Pretty nasty manual dryer - for energy costs alone you would be better in the long run if you get the next model up with auto-sensing.

  • It's still a F&P, which is a brand that I would avoid. (Too many warranty issues across their range reported by too many people over too long a period of time.)

    • And your experience is? Non existent.

Actually, you don't even have to know a bunch of people who have had issues with F&P (although a lot of people do, anyway), you just have to to have some vague idea how to use a search engine. Mostpeople don't find that sort of thing too tough. Wander over to Whirlpool and have a look if google defeats you.

I assume that was a genuine question, not simply a troll, as you're supposedly against that sort of thing.

        • I'm against regurgitated fear mongering. Funnily enough, I'm googling every brand name + problems and it's quite amazing, I'm getting thousands and thousands of results for each name I type in, even the premium/up market brands! Thanks for your conclusive evidence.

That's OK, most people are smart enough to learn from the experiences of others. Doesn't mean everyone has to be.
