I think it's for orders delivered in that time frame rather than placed

    • yeh, with deliveries from Aug 26 - Sep 1 (Aug 25-31 for BNE, GC, TWB)

  • I've tried them twice now, I don't think i'll be ordering again. The food is way too bland for my tastes. Meat can be questionable, and most of the meals look nothing like the picture. Fried chicken and gravy actually made me feel sick. Tasmanian glazed salmon was not bad, but the sauce was sickly sweet - would be much better if it was authentic teriyaki with mirin, garlic, ginger etc. Laksa was very average, too creamy, no coriander, tasted nothing like an authentic one. Really pretty damn average. I can see the value at $5 if you're pressed for time, but honestly your better off cooking yourself, the meals are really quite simple it doesn't take long to make some mash, steam some broccoli/beans and cook a piece of salmon. You will get more for your money and it will taste far better.

    • I've found about a third of their meals worthy of reordering, but really no better than $3-$4 frozen meals on special. Would pay $5-$6 for them, but no way normal price. Also hate that I have their polystyrene esky thing hanging around until I order next, despite being home both times when the order was left on door step.

Sure it's quick to whip up something if you have the ingredients at home, but that takes time planning and shopping for. If not planned for, then I find I'm throwing out lots of veges and meat from not getting to eat it in time, or running out of stuff and then I go eat out.

    • my exact thoughts, really average food. Happy to pay up to $6 a meal, no more than that.
Keep some cabbage in the fridge (they last ages), and some bacon or chicken pieces in freezer. Cook them for a bit with garlic (keep them in a zip bag in freezer too), then throw in some Hokkien noodles, add sauce of your choice, easily feed the family and still have enough left over for tomorrow's lunch.

    • Agree they can be quite bland and they look absolutely nothing like the photo. I also find I often need to add something to the meal to make it a decent size. I usually end up adding an extra vegetable or some rice. There's usually not enough sauce too IMO.

My husband is the one who usually eats them and he has been fairly happy with everything except the Thai chicken. I don't know whether we got a bad batch or if that was what it was supposed to be like but it was horrible. Unfortunately I had bought 2 of that one and my son had one also - well he had a couple of bites then refused to eat it (can't blame him).

      Couldn't imagine paying full price.

      • That doesn't surprise me. I ordered the Karaage chicken and asian slaw and it was absolutely foul, it smelled off. I notice that YouFoodz are very protective of their reputation. Before publishing on productreview they ask if you can send the review as a private message first, and they don't seem to publish negative reviews for meals on their site either. I thought this sounded amazing and the meals would be incredible from the way everyone carried on about them, but if you read between the lines and search deeper you can see it really isn't that great. Not sure what sort of "chefs" they have employed to come up with these meals, because the flavours are way off. They are certainly edible and a bit better than average frozen meals, but they fell way short of my expectations.

  • This actually worked out well for me. I had a one-off $20 voucher that I could use in conjunction with this. Gives me a few more options with hubby's work lunches / snacks.

So glad I chose my meals from the last deal to be delivered the 29th. End up with 10 meals and 2 snacks for $59. Happy with that! I know some of the meals may not be the tastiest but I have loved some of them! The stacked quesadilla, Satay chicken, buffalo chicken pizza were all tasty!

    • I found most for the meals quite tasty for what it is.
I too ordered for delivery on the 26th and received the big polystyrene box at 7am this morning. Interestingly, I ordered while the ‘free gift’ offer was on, so ended up getting this deal plus the free item (mine was the coffee cup, which is a keep cup). Ended up being $6 per meal (9 meals + free).
I’m more worried of the plastic waste this produces, but hey, it’s convenient at times…
