Took the family to Cherating Beach in Malaysia and it was awesome.
The kids loved the activities & kids club, the nightly variety shows and watching the monkeys running across the rooftops.
Heaps of different choices for every meal - even my fussy eaters were happy..
I've been to cherating 3 times since 1981 and it gets better every time. Also been to ria bintan which was pretty awesome. Though they rip you off with the transfers. They wanted $110 per person (3 of us) to get us from the airport (Changi) to the resort in Indonesia. We spent a week in Singapore beforehand so we said we'd make our own way. $15 taxi from City to ferry $50 to go in the "business class" cabin on the ferry for all 3 of us. And I estimated that a taxi would cost us about $50 at the other end on the island. But when we arrived the club med rep met us and put us on the bus at no charge :) (and free back to ferry at end of stay too). The Malaysian club med is a bit more of an adventure (1 hour flight from KL then 1.5 hour bus trip which is a bit of an eye opener) vs the sophistication of the surgically clean Singapore. Both destinations offer great shopping.
