CLR does the same job, is more widely available and is cheaper (per 100ml).

It may do the same job however it isn't designed for cars, and their website advise not to use it on cars. Use at your own risk.

Can I use CLR on my car (radiator, window etc)?
No. Not recommended for use on cars as it may damage paintwork and/or interiors.

  • Does the sparesbox Ebay page normally fall under ebays sales? As a listed seller?

    • Yes, they were in the 20% off sale about 2 weeks ago.

Then on their own site, they had 20% off for a couple of days for that afterpay promotion.

      • Great, thanks! Will wait for something similar.

    • They're actually part of the current 20% off sale

  • Never bought this but always uses polishing compound, are these only designed for removing the “water” mark?

    Any good on shower screens?

    • Good question. I think i'll buy some and let you know. It'd make sense if it worked on shower screen glass, but then again maybe soap scum on showers is a bit different to remove.

  • How about using Bar Keepers Friend?

    • Does that work well on shower screens?

      • @rhino015: I think so, please see below link. Easily available at Coles. I am trying to use on my car's windshield to remove some hard water spots.

        • It does say it contains an acid, so i'd be careful with the paint on the car and plastics and rubbers etc

        • @rhino015: you are right but I will be using mainly for cleaning windshield.

Thanks - I tried Autoglym glass polish the other day and it was far too gentle. It kind of seemed to maybe perhaps be making a difference but was really hard to tell. Probably needed to be using an electric polisher and then - as I'm a caveman - risk leaving swirls everywhere. Have ordered and will see how it goes. I also got a "Mothers Speed Clay 2.0" just for the heck of it.
