For those that missed out on getting this game for free through Humble Bundle, this may be an opportunity to pick it up for just over a buck.
Runs on Windows and Mac.
A heartfelt rogue-like survival game with amazing visuals, attractive visuals and engaging atmosphere, The Flame in the Flood allows players to experience first hand the devastation of a flood. A distinct art style and haunting environment combine to create a game of suspense, with long stretches of uncertainty as you navigate the backwaters of post-societal America.
A unique crafting system allows the player to truly find use in the items they have desperately foraged for through the desolate landscape. Nearly every item is useful, though the game does not hold your hand. Looks can be deceiving, and as lush as the Flame in the Flood looks, danger lurks in every seemingly abandoned corner. Nerve-wracking encounters with feral beasts are all the tenser when the difficulty level is as high as it is.
It's the little things that count, and in The Flame in the Flood, all factors added together result in total immersion. Have you been exposed to the elements? Combat the hypothermia. Haven't found a reliable water source yet? Hurry, you haven't got long before you start to feel the effect. Haven't eaten for a while? Better get food from somewhere.
An interesting but pretty neat little indie survival game.
Put in a few hours which was pretty fun but don't see myself playing it too much more.
