(PC Steam) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City $2.33 (Was $16) | GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City $3.48 (Was $24) @ Instant Gaming

It's an old game but maybe someone out there still wants to play it. Instant Gaming page will show that there is left than 10 games available but I've been refreshing the page often and the number of games left hasn't dropped below 5.

Welcome to the 1980s.
From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile as Grand Theft Auto returns. Vice City is a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, and is the most varied, complete and alive digital city ever created. Combining non-linear gameplay with a character driven narrative, you arrive in a town brimming with delights and degradation and are given the opportunity to take it over as you choose.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City - $3.48

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City includes both The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony together and does not require a copy of the original Grand Theft Auto IV to play.

In The Lost and Damned, experience Liberty City as Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost, a notorious biker gang. Johnny has been creating business opportunities for The Lost in Liberty City but his first loyalty must be to the patch he wears on his back and to Billy Grey, the club's President. However, when Billy returns from rehab hell-bent on bloodshed and debauchery, Johnny finds himself in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of a city torn apart by violence and corruption. Can the brotherhood survive?

The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.

  • I have been wanting to play this lately, thanks.

I don't even have a computer, but I will upvote anything and everything Vice City related until we get to go back there.

  • While this is so worth the price, why isn't it just free at this point? haha

Certainly the best GTA of the "cartoon" generation and my second favourite of all time, just behind GTA V. If you've never played it, you're in for a treat :)

Edit: I could never get it to work properly with mods + a Steam Link unfortunately - used to freeze on the Link, but I was using some intensive mods at the time.

Most people regard GTA: San Andreas as the best cartoon generation GTA.

The gameplay was great, the story was so. Damn. Dull.

I replayed through both a few months back and I remember enjoying San Andreas much more as a kid, but the one that holds up to me is VC - better voice acting, more varied characters/missions and…well damn, that 80's Miami setting was just fantastic.
San An is still playable, but I found the story to really grate on me and the character arc…didn't exist - kinda similar to GTA IV for me, really.

I would recommend this to everyone though: don't even bother going back to GTA 3 - it does not - I repeat - does NOT hold up at all. Leave it in the rose-tinted rearview mirror.

          more varied characters/missions

I just don't understand how someone can say that given San Andrea's scope.

        • @Diji1: I mean, I said a lot more than just that.

Ahh, the music in this game was something else

    • +5

Speaking of music, I know that they "re-released" a version with some of the original music removed (rights had expired I think). Not sure what music is missing from this particular version.

  • i'm playing atm.

That remote controlled helicopter mission still gives me nightmares…

    • +2

Remote controlled missions in this game were unbelievably hard as a kid. I came back one time to play this game and still the helicopter one was unbearable lol.

I love playing this game with the Back to the Future mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/back-to-the-future-hill-valley
    You're welcome. :P

I replay Vice City (mostly the story, not 100% with all collectables) multiple times a year…. it's THAT good and worth replaying many times imo. San Andreas, IV and V have not given me the same kind of experience.

FYI Instant Gaming mostly operate by "code stripping", which is buying physical copies of games from cheaper (compared to USD) regions and then reselling the codes online. Also they seem to require UK customers to upload a copy of their passport to pay with paypal which sound really sketchy.

    • How is identity checks sketchy? It's the opposite.

If we allow stores like CDKeys to be posted here, a neg vote from a 9 month old Reddit thread is just bonkers.

How is giving passport scan to someone not sketchy? Its like asking to be victim of fraud and identity theft.

        • How is giving passport scan to someone not sketchy?

I've collected 200+ passport scans from people I book flights for. Are you saying my clients are asking to be victims of fraud and identity theft?

        • +3

@Dagmar: I would say that giving a passport to someone for its intended purpose (i.e. flying) is a little less sketchy than giving it to someone for buying games online. There are other methods of validation that can be used for such purposes.
