Decided to post to prove that Amazon Prime is both a waste of time and money.

It's a waste of time having to go to woolies to get this when I can get it sent free to my house with a free Amazon Prime trial.

And that the 5% off using WISH cards is negated by CashRewards 6% off at Amazon.

    • OP user name checks out

    • Agreed.

    • But don’t you still go to the shops for food anyway?

I mean even if I get something shipped to my house I still go to coles/woolies on average 3 times a week anyway.

Can we neg the post for wrong reasoning?

Thanks OP, now I won't have to put up with the ease of getting something delivered to me at home.

I just have to put up with the hassle of going to the supermarket.

And then there is the extra money I will spend while I am there.

And I have to do it by Tuesday, even though I really don't have the time.

Are you sure you're not associated with Woolworths?

  • I'd like to get hold of a couple of the tall round 1L Klip It containers. Seems they are no longer available. I use my only 2 for Gravy powder and Corn flour, but I could full a couple more!

I've searched but can't find any readily available.

      Taller than this?

      Just posted here.

    • Not sure. This one has ridges that mine does not. Would be close enough though. I'm not a member of Amazon Prime, and it's not available according to the site 😐

Decided to post to prove that Amazon Prime is both a waste of time and money.

It's $4.99 a month and you get Twitch Prime, Prime Video, Prime Reading, free expedited shipping and lot of exclusive deals.

Are you a Woolworths employee by any chance?

    • i think the idea is more that as amazon enters the segment that supermarkets also cater for is that when we get the big deals eg 50% off containers, which happens regularly, it’s sometimes quicker, easier and cheaper at the supermarket ……no minimum purchase and if no stock get a rain check……amazon often has min spends and they don’t do rain checks.

there is no single portal for all the bargains we seek …….i went with ebay plus as i order a lot of small items from china, some people might like amazon prime for the extra video, though i doubt its all the same movies as in the usa due to copyright and distribution rights outsides of the usa, like our netflix isnt as good as in the
      usa ,

since amazon closed access to the usa site my spend with amazon has definitely declined.

      • Amazon prime also has no minimum purchase for free shipping. It's true as you say there is no single portal for all the bargains…wait.. there's Ozbargain!

If anything, it caters for a wider range of audience than just Woolworths as compared here. It is true that Prime Video isn't as good which is why Prime is only a fraction of what USA Prime costs. Whether the library will expand is something we just have to wait and see.

Be that as it may, I still shop at the supermarkets for everyday stuff. But as for the other Amazon bargains that has been posted, I felt the subscription has been worth it.

No. However if you are paying for a privilege you should expect a better price than your local Woolworths that does not require an annual membership fee.
