  • i still got a few packs left from the last couple of deals

    • +1

left over because… they dont taste good?

    • +1

You do notice its got expiry? Unless you freeze it. My steak and mushroom sauce tasted slightly off after a day past the date, so I try to keep an eye on the expiry date now.

      • We put them straight in the freezer as soon as they arrive, then just take out the ones we're going to use the next day on the night before.

      • yeah they are in freezer but they dont fair well against microwave, i wouldnt recommend unless you dont have a choice.

  • +1

Does anyone know where these meals are cooked? I'm assuming there must be multiple kitchens across the country?

But given the $20 delivery charge to WA, maybe not the west coast.

    • +2

They have a large facility in Virginia, Queensland (North Brisbane). Not sure if this is their only one or not?

    • +1

They're all cooked in Virginia in Brisbane and then transported interstate for delivery I believe

  • +11

Would be all over this if it was 9 meals @ $5 each

  • Thanks OP just ordered for the first time. Will give these guys a go.

  • +3

    delivery to WA kills.

    • +1

Been buying this instead of Lite n Easy (doing a weight loss program). With all these sales it actually place the price the same as LnE, if not better, because they keep giving freebies on top of the discounted price. Even though we're still not enjoying the benefit as much as the East Coast cities do…

  • +14

This works with the meal bundles too so you can effectively get 10 meals for $59

    • How did you do it?
      I added a meal bundle + 5 meals for $64.15

      • +2

        Order 2

        • +1

          Cheers :)

  • -5

Does anyone have the block 100% off discount code like last year?

I tried going into online chat and asking for the contestant codes for 100% off but I was directed to the production/marketing team and they will probably work out I am indeed not a contestant.

    • +1

      lol no

    • +1

      they didnt honour it anyway

  • +2

Had a nice selection in my cart. No delivery to Tasmania :(

    • That's a shame I was just about to go to the site and start clicking.

  • +2

have ordered so many freezer is full :-)

    • I don't think they're supposed to be frozen.

      • The meals are fresh, not been frozen before so there is no harm in freezing.

        • No harm but you may as well buy frozen foods from your local supermarket. It won't taste as nice.

        • @John: i froze the lasagna and it tasted nothing like frozen foods in a good way. I wouldnt do it for the other foods though!

Can we just ban the people that come to say "WA delivery Kills it" . Every post they come just to say the same thing over and over

    • +1

I have seen these deals, but haven't looked into it previously.

So, apologise for the second or two you had to read, but thanks to the community who repeat it for people who haven't looked into previous deals.

    • +5

No, it serves a purpose even if it annoys some people. It saves people from WA from wasting time checking out the deal only to find out delivery is excessive. Not just for this bargain but in general. It is annoying when you find a bargain, you add items to cart only to find out excessive delivery fees on checkout.

      • +4

But the extra postage is in the description. Maybe our western counterparts need to pay closer attention

        • It highlights the differential between the positive votes and location.

As the delivery fee basically makes this deal 'Free delivery for WA', instead of 'Free delivery, meals 30% off'. There's a big difference in deals. As deals go, delivery kills the deal for WA.

Sorry Belv, now I'm saying it.. perhaps you were right!

  • Dammit! just put in an order a couple house ago :(

    • +26

how often do you buy houses??

  • +1

$89.55 in cart and keep getting spend requirements not met.

    • But works if I add a 10th item..

      • Is one of your meals not a normal-priced 9.95 meal?

        • nah just happens to be a buggy app

    • Okay I've worked out the app just sucks. Always get issues trying to use these codes. Works fine on their website.

      • Didn't even realise they had an app.. best to stick to the web as there's always promo codes abound!

  • +1

    Gift? Really

  • Thanks OP! That's lunch for the next week sorted :)

  • Thanks! Missed the one from a couple of days ago, this one came just in time.

  • These are so tasty and the variety is good!

  • What's the size like on these meals? I'm thinking I may need 2 of them to satisfy my hunger

    • smallish but more practical for those wanting to lose weight or maintain weight. Eat some fruit or a desert snack if one meal isn't enough.

    • Yes if you eat 'normal' lunch, you'll need 2. I typically take 1 to work and bring some extra food (fruit or sides etc.)

    • Good serving and very convenient/healthy for lunch + a snack
Most people would need to eat two for dinner if they're not trying to lose weight

    • Size is actually ok once you got used to it, though if you are an active & healthy person you may need more. But for office workers I think its perfect. This is my second week and I've gotten use to the portion. Its also good because I hardly experience post lunch slump lately, I'm guessing because I have been consuming less than what I usually did.

  • +4

Lol I've gone heavy on these deals, 17 meals over 2 weeks of orders coming out to $6.30 a meal. I'll bring some to work so I'll save some cash their, also the site has sooo much variety which is nice

    • True Ozbargainer dividing cost per meal

  • +1

Are these pre-packed meals reasonable in size ? Or is it like a TV dinner where eating the box is necessary to feel full ?

    • If you were eating out, think of it as a ~ $6 lunch filling. So you'd need two to feel full, but fine if you bring extras along.

    • I grabbed these last time and they are tasty meals however if you are a big eater you may think they are on the small size. Some are nicer tasting than others e.g. the Hawaiin Chicken parama was horrible in my opinion. Mohits butter chicken, Clean Paprika chicken and Slow cooked lamb shanks are a few of the nicer meals I had last time, just ordered those again.

  • Anyone know when this code expires?

    • +4

      It says.. first 6000 orders

      • Thanks mate! Completely missed the heading.

  • Any suggestions on meals?

    • Flamin' Chicken
      Clean Savoury Mince

    • Spaghetti! My fav, we get it every time.

  • anyone know if these deliver to parcel lockers?

    • Not sure about parce lockers but it states they don't do p.o boxes

    • +2

No, they have their own couriers and don't use Australia Post.

  • +1

Not worth paying full price due to the tiny portions but definitely worth a try when you can use the discount codes.

  • +1

just a heads up you can get 10 meals for $59 if you use the bundles (winter bundle etc has 5 meals at 44.95)

  • -1

Price point is good with discount. Unless its amazing I won't continue, my expectations are set at 'tv dinner level'.

  • OP, first off thanks for the code.
Secondly, for the sake of transparency, if you're associated with YF, can you make it known?

A check on your history shows youve only posted YF deals. It's only lead me to check your profile as I never receive these codes via email :)

    • +4

Nah I'm not associated, I just order youfoodz a lot and trying to give back to the ozb community.
I get forwarded codes from my friends as well, as some of these codes only get sent to people who order infrequently.

  • Which dishes are most value for money?

    • +2

The ones with the highest calories.

    • I generally don't go for stupid dishes like pasta that takes me all of 10 minutes to make myself. Or the vegetarian dishes. The butter chicken isn't bad as well as the macaroni and cheese with beef (don't judge and don't ask lol)

      • i ordered the mac cheese because it looked so good

  • Thanks OP!
I just got my first box delivered this morning…at 6:30am…
I requested window time between 2-5pm to a home address delivery. They came at a different window and buzzed the bell waked up everyone from sleep. I was upset and physically got a headache. But when I saw this deal I couldn't resist to order another box (delivering to the office address this time) because the box I got this morning looks exactly as the pictures on their website (I haven't tried one though).
This will be the last change I will give to them. If they come too early again and leave the box in front of my office door and if I loose it, I will not come back anymore. (I left clear delivery instructions both times.)

    • yeh, the time they deliver varies wildly, even if you get deliveries on the same day each week.
recently they smsd me that it would be delivered between 2am and 5pm LOL.
mines not too bad as they just leave it at the door, and then sms that its been delivered, so i can get it whenever i get home or when i wake up.

      • My driver buzzed our security intercom bell and I suspected the whole floor would hear it.
After the ring he left the box outside the intercom door and sent me a sms "Are you excited? We just delivered it bla bla bla…" LOL I was so "excited" to be buzzed up from dream. T.T

        • I got an email from [email protected] asking for any feedback. I reckon this is a good one - I care about delivery window more than the exact day I receive it.

        • @pifts: Yeah. I'd much rather get a 8-10 am firm time (or similar 2 hour window) but not know which day exactly until the day before. Even just 'early' / 9-12pm / 12pm-5pm would be a heap better.

    • I had this experience too..

Subsequently learnt how to disable my intercom bell for the delivery days!

  • how long is the expiry date?
This is going to be my first time ordering.

    • meals are about 7-9 days, but you can freeze them, although theres differing opinions on how good they are after unfreezing. my experiences have been ok, but there was one sauce that was a bit weird after unfreezing.

  • +1

I have been eating these for the past few weeks.
Wished they had a larger selection or dish rotation!

  • +1

They should make it consistently 10 meals for $50 or discounts with larger orders.
Seems like a lot of waste on foam boxes and ice packs for small orders.

    • +1

I always return mine back to them
