[Melbourne] 3 Bedrooms Carpet Steam Cleaned for $75 @ Ministry of Cleaning

60

We just got our carpets cleaned from these guys. I found the price very reasonable as he didn't jack the prices upon arrival. Last time I hired someone for lower price off gumtree but the person started making excuses to increase up the price and eventually I had to cancel him.

It may not sound like a bargain but when tradies don't charge you more than they quote, to me that's a good deal. Bloke asked for referrals and I thought what's better than this great community.

I checked if they provide quote over the email as well. They confirmed that they provide free email and over the phone quotes.

Sorry mate, haven't posted a deal before. I should have mentioned location. Thanks for highlighting. I will update.

Don't be so harsh. You have yet to post a deal. It is nerve wrecking the first few times.

Anyone recommend someone reasonably priced for Sydney?

You can try shop-a-dockets but as OP mentioned will probably find excuses to try to lift the price.

Better to hire a machine from either a supermarket or bunnings, or just buy one from Godfreys (note though some stores have sharks that will give fake demonstrations and try to upsell you to a $1000 unit).

Also when you hire one just use a small amount of front load clothes detergent.

      • My local Woolworths doesn't hire them out anymore, so this sounds appealing.

Edit: plus for the laundry powder tip, works a treat and saves a bundle.

If you want to do it yourself, even bunnings rent it out. I have tried long ago, however I ended up spending almost the same amount including $40 on the hire cost, $20 on chemicals plus time, labor, electricity. So, for me it wasn't worth hiring it.

Maybe try looking for someone on google and call and check if it is fix price. Beware of companies that give you an estimate only and then measure upon arrival and charge around $3 per extra square meter.
