Can Anyone Recommend a Day Hotel in KL?

Hey,

I arrive in KL at 8am and can't check into my airbnb until 2 or 3 PM. The current plan is to leave my luggage at the station and watch a movie or 2 at nusentral but I'd like to have a backup plan if I need a nap. The only day hotel I can find is the tune hotel at KLIA2 which is 30$ but I fly into KLIA1 and I would much rather be closer to town.

The airbnb is at the Ramada hotel suites (previously invito), if I could find somewhere near there which is affordable that would be perfect. Any ideas?

Thanks!

There are a bunch of cheap hotels next to Nu Sentral in Brickfields/Little India.
They usually go for less than $30 a night, there is enough of them that I'm sure you'll find one that will let you stay during the day.

If you get proper stuck up against the wall, hit me up… Might be able to help.

    • Got any recommendations on the cheap hotels near Nu Sentral? There is so many of them and some look pretty ghetto. I tried looking up various cheap hotels near my airbnb but its so hard to find a email address for some of these small places.

Will have a look tonight when we go out for dinner, normally just walk past them and don't take much notice of them.

Ahh you live there, nice :). Don't go to too much effort on my behalf.

        • @No:

Haven't really gotten around to it yet, but if you're in a bind we can help you out. I work from home most days so it's no hassle.

  • There is a YMCA Hostel a short walk from Nu Sentral. Yes, that area is a bit ghetto.

    1. Have you tried talking to your Airbnb host if there is any possibility of checking-in earlier? Malaysians generally do not strictly abide by rules, i.e. rules can be "bend" and Malaysians are generally very flexible and accommodating. It's common to see Malaysians jaywalking.

    2. Brickfields (the area near Sentral) also has a large blind community. Many of them are trained professional masseurs. Good quality massages at cheap rates, but the venue might be a bit ghetto.

    • Thanks! I sent them an email.

I did ask the airbnb but they said they may be able to let me in at 2pm. Its a fairly popular airbnb and I can see there is another booking from the night before so I don't like my chances. I really should have just booked the night before myself since its pretty cheap.

  • arrive at 8am - possible delay, customs, luggage claim, drive into KL. probably 10:30-11am before you get in. gives you 3 hours to kill.

why not head to mid valley mall. just chill for a bit. grab a coffee. etc go and get something to eat.

    • Even without luggage and having had a good sleep I find mid valley to not be the greatest place to unwind.

      • Haha yea mid valley is prob not for chilling. There are probably pockets of mid Valley that are ok for it but for the most part, no.

  • Cancel your bnb and stay at either Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur or Sunway Putra Hotel; that latter in a club room if you can afford it.

    • Sure, they got apartments with balconies for $30?
