Best Way to Get Rid of 'like New' CRT TV?

My grandfather bought a CRT TV well after everyone I knew had flat screens (maybe 2010?). He passed away not long after and it has been at my parents for a few years in a wooden cabinet, but they don't need it and it is rarely used.

So they have a 66cm (I think) CRT that is hardly used and probably one of the newest sold in Australia.
It seems a shame to throw it out, and I think some retro game collectors still like CRT screens?

Any suggestions of how I get rid of it in the least wasteful manner?

  • Possibly contact 'Retro' themed bars and see if they are interested? Or something along those lines

    eBay local pickup.

Put it on eBay / gumtree local pickup only.

There is a facebook game buy/sell page could be worth posting there as well.

CRTs have extremely low input delay compared to digital screens and as a result are popular with 'retro game collectors' which pretty much refers to competitive Super Smash Brothers Melee players. I don't think you'll be able to sell it but depending where you live could be incredibly easy to get rid of in a non-wasteful way.

Try Gumtree for $50. You might get someone. Good for retro shooting games.

  • Great for the old N64

  • No doubt at all a retro gaming enthusiast would buy it.

  • NSW TV Replacement Offer, but only

    • if you are a concession holder, and
    • if you want a 40" TCL LED TV for $210 + delivery.

This may not be the best deal for you. I am mentioning this only because the old CRT will be taken away to be dismantled and recycled.
