'Vinyl Solution' in Cheltenham, arguably the best record store in south east Melbourne, is closing down by the end of October. All stock is 50% off until that time, with no exceptions. The store has a massive range of old and new vinyl records ranging from the the 1940s to today. They also have a lot of CDs and tapes in stock, plus a smaller selection of blu-rays, DVDs, vintage comics and music memorabilia.
The store's catalogue is still available online at the link but orders are no longer being accepted through the site, only in store.
What you class as a bargain will depend on your tastes but personally I picked up a couple of brand new Radiohead records yesterday for $20 each and a few second hand 60s and 70s rock records in great condition for about $7 each.
Plenty of bargains to be had.

Hahaha! I don't know whether to laugh or cry about that one ;)
Good gear!
Hipster is dead?
This guy and his store have been around for 40 years and he's only closing up shop because he's keen to do something else after all that time. I'd say the whole 'hipster' thing is only a blip on his radar.
Why not sell the business then?
I saw the Sex Pistols had been re-released on vinyl, because it would sound soooo much better on vinyl. Not.
You'd have to ask him. Maybe he gets more out of selling off stock and then selling the retail space separately, it's his choice to make I guess. Vinyl actually produces excellent sound quality with a decent setup, easily on par with what a CD or FLAC audio can accomplish. People also buy records for the large cover art, lift outs and extras packaged with the records, and the different experience of enjoying music it offers compared to just tapping the screen of your phone. Not for everyone, but definitely great for collectors and those who like a more tactile way of experiencing their music.
Given that they're closing down, I'd argue that they were definitely NOT "the best record store in south east Melbourne" or they'd still be in business (or sold it on)
The guy has been running the store for 40 years and doesn’t want to sell on something like that to someone else. I’d argue if you check out the store yourself you’d change your mind.
Wow surprised by the amount of negativity and ignorance in the comments.
Me too. People are weird.
Went today. Still plenty of stock…
Is everything still 50% off? I think he was hoping to be shut by Oct, so waiting to hear if he's slashing even further (then I might return for the stuff I was only half interested in).
Weren't they talking about this record store in the Senate today?
