Car gets older - car needs more things checked/replaced/repaired, it's par for the course.

Well in this case, I used to bring my steak and they were more than happy to cook it .. and then the menu changed :P
I just felt on my last service, that they were really getting money hungry and picked on everything to get a dollar.
yes and no, you can always say no to having the faults fixed and at least you know they went over it well to find the faults.

I'm guessing too many people buying cheap and chips parts and/or 2nd hand parts, then complained when the parts they paid KTA to install failed.
No actually I used to work for Ford and had employees discount hence used genuine parts. Obviously it was cheaper than the equivalent.
