Organisation & Communication App for Community Group (Web + Mbl Ph)

Please recommend an app that works for group communication, calendaring, todo/tasks etc.
For a community service organisation so price should be free or cheap
Must work on web and iOS & Android with email and calendar integration
Ad supported app would be ok if not too annoying
Have looked at:
GroupMe but it's just messaging – ditto WhatsApp
Team App looks ok but aimed at sports teams etc.
Also Facebook etc. – but they get too messy with existing profiles – prefer something separate
Slack, Asana, Cirkus etc. all suggested

Is anyone using anything they could recommend we try?

      Slack is awesome! Plus there's a free tier, so no subscription is necessary unless you want to keep your message history for ages, store files, etc. I also like the way it integrates with a heap of other apps. They don't call it the email killer for nothing!

    We were using Basecamp but recently moved onto Microsoft Teams.

      We use Basecamp at the community group I am in.
      A big issue for us is the lack of technical skills the bulk of the population has. Even younger people comfortable on facebook/insta often have sub par computer skills, so whatever you choose needs to be super easy to operate.
      Basecamp is also good as it keeps a visible record of all messages, allowing people to catch up with repeating things too much.
      Our plan is $20usd/pm for the v2 product, but it has done everything we need for the last 4 years.

        Thank you and agree re computer/IT skills - I am amazed at how some younger people can barely typelet alone operate a program/app
