Just about to settle on a new apartment that I will be renting out.
There are 4 sliding doors that we need to put curtains/blinds on. Trying to work out what is best long-term for us as the owners and also for the future tenants so they have privacy
What have others put into to their rental units or if you are a renter what would you prefer?
3 of the sliding doors are in the lounge area and 1 is in the bedroom.
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Are you just after privacy (where sheers would probably be enough) or are you trying to provide some insulation properties as well for the windows. You could look at Op shops for second hand curtains, if you want to get some decent heavy drapes. You can, certainly, put proper curtains with sliding doors as the curtains aren't attached to the doors.
We went to IKEA. Block out and transparent for privacy.
Did have to shorten curtains for the sliding door.
Made a huge difference and was far better than what the LL had originally.
We took it with us when we moved and now using it in our current place.

Custom roller blinds, cheap, Vertical blinds are the best option (don't buy the one with chains at the bottom). Curtains are the ultimate option. Big price difference.
If you are only looking at light curtains then these are quite good.

We use similar for putting up our sheers in Summer. You don't need to drill and they can be removed easily. However, they can fall down if you stand on them or pull them hard.
i prefer Sliding Door Blinds because not hard to replace and look simple and beautiful, in my own opinion.
Take photos and measurements and go to Spotlight and ask them.
Generally poles horizontal above doors with curtains on rings. They might have pre-made sizes. Much cheaper than made to measure.
