hell i paid about $1400 for a 23" sony bravia about 3 years back when the xbox 360 came out. alot of people upgraded at that time and it made a big difference. still a great tv use it in the kitchen now. got a 40" bravia XBR in the lounge for ps3/xbox.

Can't find this deal on the catalogue, only the PS3 one.

    • Read the fine print under the PS3 deal on last page (OP stated above)

Looks like the Blu-Ray player is the Sony BDP-S370.

Sony Bravia 32" LCD TV - KDL32EX400 50hz Motion Plus
    http://www.sony.com.au/product/kdl-32ex400

All you need to get now is a surround sound amplifier and 5.1 speaker package to enjoy the great lossless audio provided by blu-ray.

This is a great deal. I recently purchased the blu-ray player $150 and that was on special. I am currently using it with an older model 32" Sony Full HD 50hz tv and its great.

Although the selection of blu-ray movies isn't great. Especially the PINK one!!

Why does it says $897 on the catalogue?

    • In English, as all ready mentioned, the $897 one is ps3 not blu-ray player. Underneath it says the blu-ray deal for $598.

  • I have updated the link, and under the description it says:

    Also available Sony Bravia 32" full HD LCD TV + blu-ray player + HDMI cable + 3 x blu-ray movies $598.

how would the TV perform as a computer monitor?

    • by plugging it into your computer as a guess :-)

      • let me rephrase, how well would the TV perform as a computer monitor?

        • It would perform OK, provided you're not too fussy. For games and browsing it would be fine, but not perhaps for everyday working on.

        • I use a 1080p Sony 32" as my daily computer screen and I'm very happy with it.

I wouldn't recommend it though if you need to do alot of work with photo/movie editing as a higher resolution would be required.

better off getting a 24" 1080P BenQ computer monitor

    • +1

Why? the SONY is a 30% bigger panel, how is it a comparison?

      • -1

The resolution is not really good enough to use as a computer monitor - you would probably get eye strain if you used it for any length of time.

        • On the contrary I use it as a monitor and find it excellent. Not too big at all. The color range is not quite as good as a monitor but would really only bother photographers/artists. I sit pretty close as well.

        • Radar is correct.

Screens this size are no good for use as a PC monitor.

They are only good for videos and barely good for gaming.

You're better off with a screen around 20-24 inches, you will get best results.

And nubzy, plz do not recommend people get a BenQ, especially on a website where so many people aren't familiar with different pc products. BenQ is probably the worst choice for a everyday Joe.

@ nubzy - errr, if the 24" is 1080p and the Sony is 1080p there is NO difference in resolution. The only problem would be you need a big enough desk to not have it 5" away from your eyes!

      • by resolution he means pixels per unit area. Same res over a bigger area = bigger pixels = less resolution within the area you are focused on.

      • Why are you talking mate?

I don't think you know anything about what you're talking about.

a 24" at 1080p will look MUCH better than a 32" at 1080p as a pc monitor, as MetalPhreak stated.
