I have an Xbox one S, which I hardly ever play. However my daughter "needs" a chat headset for Fortnite. I was going to get the MS one for $29.95 however seems to be discontinued.
Any recommendations?

Here's the official: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/microsoft-xbox-one-chat-hea…
You can get a clone of the official one from China for about $15 on ebay. I would assume it's the same but Microsoft brand it and double the price.

If your daughter doesn't need anything overly special or expensive, ebay would be the cheapest way to go.
Otherwise EB has decent sales on headsets often.
Personally was looking to buy this one, highly rated online it seems: https://ebgames.com.au/xbox-one-221311-Afterglow-lvl-1-White…
As mentioned below, headsets with game and chat audio will be much better.
Xbox one S supports any 3.5mm headset with mic
Unless I'm missing something.Yep, any 3.5mm earphones or headset except the mic on Apple earphones don’t work.
That's because apple had this great idea of swapping ground and mic pin unlike every single 9ther manufacturer out there.
Innovative. :)
I have a similar question. I have a 3.5mm Mic/Headphone combo but what is the cheapest way to bring a quick mute button directly to the Controller?
Does this product connect with 3.5mm jack? do I need to Stereo Chat Adapter?
If a headset doesn’t have an in-line mute button, you can use the Microsoft chat adapter (no mic monitoring) or the Turtle Beach audio adapter (which will give mic monitoring).
Assuming she will be using the headset to listen to the sound from the game as well as for chat, I would recommend something with stereo and decent sound - being able to hear where loot/baddies are in game makes a big difference.
Lots of options around $70 if you are willing to go that high? Otherwise could try an eBay crapshoot or hang out for a sale.
Agreed, game and chat audio into a headset is much better.
This headset is great value for money at the moment - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/395679
Or a cheapie at Kmart would do the trick on a tight budget (just make sure it has an inline mic) - https://www.kmart.com.au/category/home-&-entertainment/enter…
My kids use a $10 3.5mm generic headset and it seems to do what they need….
Oh No
