Domino's - For Each Pizza Sold (Between 4-9PM, On Wed 8th August) 50 cents will go towards Drought Relief Campaign

Moved to Forum: Original Link

On Wednesday 8 August from 4-9pm, Domino’s will donate 50c from every pizza sold across Australia to Rural Aid, to support Australian farmers and rural communities affected by drought.

In addition to the funds raised from the national ‘Doughraiser’ Domino’s own registered charity, Give for Good, will also donate an additional $40,000 to the cause.

So many farmers out there are doing it really tough at the moment and we want to throw our full support behind them by raising vital funds for Rural Aid. The not-for-profit organisation does amazing work in supporting farming communities through programs like Buy a Bale, which delivers hay for cattle feed and other essential items. These farmers are a part of the Domino’s family – they are a part of our food supply, they are our business partners, our customers, and they are fellow Australians, so it’s important we do what we can to help.

Domino’s is first and foremost a food business and the rural communities of Australia are key enablers of our high-quality food supply chain. We remain committed to providing focused funding and support for rural and remote communities, local farming needs, sustainability initiatives, as well as meaningful programs that improve the overall impact of our sustainable food procurement journey.

I'm gonna skip the pizza and donate $20 directly to the buy a bale program. Save the wallet and the waistline, bargain!

Have they thought about donating 50c from each pizza to their employees?

    • Why?

Because the Domino's business model is screwing over store owners and reflipping stores for profit, like basically every franchise in Australia.

        • like basically every franchise in Australia.

So…. not particularly bad then? I honestly don't know what's happening, but people complaining about these kinds of things all make it sound like store owners/employees/what-have-you are being forced into something.

They're all doing it willingly to try and make money, aren't they?

  • Do city slickers with hobby farms get any cash?

I personally will never buy from dominos after they got unidays to cancel my student account. Apparently, someone saving $1 on their pizza with my discount code was too much for dominos to bear, so they went through the trouble of getting another company to ban my account.

    Dominos never again, on principle.

    • So you wasn't a student ?:)

      • I am. Going by your English perhaps you should be one too!

Yeah but you gave out your code to others which is against the T&Cs, and likely the T&Cs of Unidays too. These arrangements work because it's limited to a specific set (so they can control its impact). Don't think you have any entitlement to be whining here.
