    That price….

A few of my sportier friends swear by the fenix, not your average smart watch.

As someone who exercises about 15 minutes a week though, I don't own one.

  • Would this one be good for cycling?

you would still have to do the paddling, but yes. They even have a rubber handlebar mount to wrap the watch over. or you can use wear it.

It works but I think you're better off with a cycle computer of some kind (plus a speed + cadence sensor)

Fenix screen will be very small and harder to read while on the bike

Personally I use a wahoo unit as my headunit. I also use my Fenix while on the bike, but only so that it can compute my vo2max (in conjunction with a power meter)

  • Ryda has it in gray for less https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/395445

I assume leather has something to do with the price.

      • Looks like bonded leather by the tacky print
edit: lower level of leather atleast from google pics

        • I don't think leather goes very well in water. Is it specially treated and how does that last?

This one comes with two straps, leather strap + resin one. Also Sapphire glass. I don't think the standard black strap comes with Sapphire. Watch is massive. Leather strap is thick and quite nice, but adds to the bulk. Unless you're a Russell Coight type adventurer it's a bit much, and a little impractical if you run/sweat in it. I'd prefer a thinner leather strap if I could find one, and am currently using the resin band as my daily driver.

      • Battery life to short for adventurers.

      • Geez it is huge. Makes the Amazfit Stratos look small.

  • Looks like a 2015 model, so probably way overpriced, without the extras. Must be a replacement coming.

  • How many have they sold at $949? Ryda's claims their non-sale price was $360 for watch alone.
