In case this is useful, a dentist friend of mine said that most mouth washes (other than Savacol) don't do much beyond freshening breath. (He also mentioned that Savacol can eventually stain your teeth, so I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.)
My hygienist told me the same thing, I stopped using Plax twice a day and I noticed the plaque on my teeth increased over the next few visits.
I went back to using it once a day at night and plaque is less.
I think it works.
But it might help kill oral STI's.

I bought this and mine eventually got delivered, however I noticed packaging looked slightly different to my current one. So on careful observation found out this one is from Malaysia imported here, just like reject shop, while Woolworths was made here

Be aware that there's no fluoride in this stuff, so it'll freshen your breath, but won't do anything to actually protect your teeth.
It'd be fine to use after eating/drinking stuff bad for your teeth, since brushing will damage the enamel. Would also be fine to use after flossing to flush out any excess crap left behind if you don't have a water/air flosser to do the job. I wouldn't use this stuff after brushing though, unless you want to rinse off all the fluoride in your toothpaste.
