hosted a Belgian couple once, said they can do anything, except bang in my spare bed. the bloke was balls deep after 30 minutes of going to bed, never again.

once stayed with an american women, for a week, who i didn't like after 30 minutes, so i found another place for 5 nights in the middle, but left all my stuff at the first place. she wasn't impressed.

hahaha! what were you expecting? (and… how did you know about it?) ;p

    • if you tell someone they cannot do something chances are they will do it haha

    • Did they let you watch?

Surprisingly unclesnake is not a voyeur.

  • Hosted one person from London, was great.
Had a bunch of people since then, maybe ten or so.

Last person was sketchy as hell, kept asking me when I'd be going out for the night, etc.
    Stopped doing it after that.

I came here for the comments.

  • I don’t surf/host but I enjoy using it to connect with locals who are happy to meet for coffee or drinks.

    • Does this lead to sex?

      • You need Tinder.

        • No luck.

        • @AlienC: I'll be in Sydney soon. I'll take ya out.

        • @Clear: Domino's or pizza hut? Or a hungry Jack's special :)

  • For those confused the website in question that OP is talking about is this.

    You have been warned.

  • I have hosted and couchsurfed on many occasions in the past. However, that was pre-AirBNB, so that totally killed it. In Australia I usually received requests from young German females, and since I didn't want to be accused of anything accidentally, I stopped it altogether. I think it was great in the past, but pretty much dead in the present.

  • The original couchsurfing culture and community is long gone these days.
It used to be a great community when I was younger - (pre becoming a company).
Now, most people see it as free accommodation and do not adhere to the original values of what it once was.
Meetups can still be good, I haven't been to one for a couple of years. sometimes it's better to find guests and hosts from there.

  • Was on both side of the couch for ages pre getting attached about 8 yrs ago, and had 99% great experiences.
