Where to Buy Furniture in Sydney?

Looking for some good and reasonable priced furniture in Sydney.

I'm looking for a dining set, buffet, coffee and lamp tables.
Today we went to the Supa Centa Moore Park and our favorite furniture shops were Harvey Norman, Freedom, Custom Design and Icon by Design. All of them are quite pricey, so I would like to know fellow OzBargainers suggestions.

Where to buy furniture for a good price and quality furniture?

Budget is:
-Dining table: $1000
-Dining 6 chairs: $1000
-Buffet: $1000
-Lamp table: $500
-Coffee table: $500
-Total: $4000

No Ikea and Fantastic Furniture please.

Cheers,

Didn't even know this was a thing.

      A lamp table I mean.

    • Lamp table, also know as side table.

Looks like you have not been shopping furniture recently. These tables could be in the $200-$600 range.

I did use $500 for rounding purposes, what matter is the total budget.

Go to Auburn home center you msy find some cheaper stuff from the small shop

You could try Super A-Mart. It is a little better than Fantastic Furniture but still on the cheaper side from say Freedom prices.

I know you said no Ikea, but having had to buy furniture recently, I can see why it is so popular. There's not really any other furniture store where you can take your items home with you on the same day. Which for me, I'm ok to sacrifice quality for the mere convenience of not having to wait weeks for a delivery or collection. Plus I don't mind the self assembly thing. The kids love to help and also enjoy playing with all the cardboard before it gets chucked out.

$69 "lamp table", still not sure what you need it for or why you'd spend up to $600 on one, probably to show off in front of guests.

    • He needs to put a lamp on it, A lamp can usually be bought for between $1000-$2000.

  • Poco furniture in blacktown

  • Freedom Furniture, West Elm?

  • Find out what style you like, but based on your favourite stores seems like you might like a bit of a modern design.
Might need to check out various home centres.

I would also check out warehouse sales like https://www.designtraders.co/Gallery---Latest-Stock.html

Also your budget could get nice second hand stuff from gumtree

Was there reason you wanted to avoid IKEA?

  • Ikea has a range of quality. Your budget is at that premium Ikea level or average second hand solid furniture.

You're not going to get anything premium. If you shopped around for premium look and replicas, you'll likely end up paying your budget for something you would have been able to get cheaper at a big name store (ie, the ones you listed).

  • Go to APEX website… they have really good commercial quality furniture at great prices. I've bought a few table tops and table bases for my business and they're still great!
    Have a look at https://www.apex.com.au/furniture/tables.html

  • I've found that quality furniture is hard to find at a reasonable price. You run the gauntlet of whether it is good quality or not.
We bought furniture from Leisure Lounges at Smeaton Grange about 8 years ago, and it's still going strong. It was all Australian made and customised to what we wanted.

  • I've had pretty good luck buying a few things from Temple & Webster - seems to fit your budget.
