The dual-band wireless LAN comes with modular compliance certification, allowing the board to be designed into end products with significantly reduced wireless LAN compliance testing, improving both cost and time to market.

        • @NigelTufnel:

          Nope, not going to get anywhere without a 3V3 supply from the regulator.

    • Damn that worries me. I just got mine this morning and can't test it till midnight.

      The packaging shows RS component logo and the board is made in UK.

      Edit: just to add, watch out with the bag that Arrow uses to pack the Pi, I dont think its anti static bag.

      • My Pi came in a box though.

        • Without plastic bag wrapping on yours? Maybe coz I ordered 3? Hmm

        • @Yummy: The Pi was in the box and the box was in a plastic bag. No bag around the Pi itself though.

          @koganei:
          Exactly that. Just saying be careful when handling the plastic wrapping, you may kill a child and/or your Pi.

        • -1

          @Yummy: Prior to handling it's best to remove any build-up of static electricity from your hands wiping them rapidly on your shirt, or the carpet, or even in your hair…

          @dm01:
          No worries, I am well grounded. ^_^;

          And the best way to handle any PCB: strip naked & stand on a cold metal sheet.

    • try installing Raspbian Stretch.

  • +3

    Just an FYI. You will need the latest version of Raspbian Stretch to make this boot. If you are on an old version of Stretch or are on Jessie, it won't boot. It will blink the red led, some short then some long. If you have your screen on, it will show a rainbow with a lightning bolt in the top right. Jessie won't automatically upgrade to Stretch, you need to do some things to make it upgrade.

  • Ordered one on 02/08/18 4:41pm, only just received notification that it has actually shipped on 09/08/18 4:35am (DHL), ETA 15/08/18. Slower than I expected based on all the comments about how fast Arrow was with shipping. Lucky I don't actually need it :P

      Username checks out! (I jest)

    • They most likely ran out of stock due to overwhelming demand and had to wait until more stock arrived to ship out.

    • Arrived today, so 12 days total is OK.

  • anyone have a "friend" who installed the 128gb or 250gb ROMS from arcade punk ?

    My friend is downloading it now, and is wondering what the experience will be like with some 10,000 to 20,000 retro games to choose from…..

    especially using the pi B+ model which will be overclocked apparently

    • No but I will be interested to hear.
      I have the Arcade pack on order.

    • Overwhelming.

      Not friend, I tries em myself. I don't think I need that many and beside I don't play those oldie C64, Atari, etc. I'm more into arcade NeoGeo, CPS1-3, some PSP, PSX maybe, MD/Snes/consoles, shmups, anything from the mid 80s-90s mostly.

  • Arrow are not very competent. They keep getting confused by states and cities in Australia. Hve tried to explain to them several times. Over a week now and still no Pi.

    • That seems odd - why don't they just use your full delivery address as per your account details?

      • No idea. It arrived today via DHL so rapid delivery.

        Amazing value.

        Any idea why people are buying the arcade pack when it is a Model B not Model B+?

        • To get the arcade bits ?

          I installed a B+ into the arcade kit, and will use the B as a spare for something less intensive.

  • Seems they have double charged me, on 9th when it was first ordered and again on 14th when shipped… via PayPal how is this even possible?
