Sales on Window Air Conditioners?

I'm looking to buy a window air conditioner before summer kicks in again.

I have plenty of time now that it's winter, and my room stays nice and warm during the winter so I don't need to look for a reverse cycle AC.

Does anyone know if Window ACs usually have sales on during the winter or spring? I'll be needing it for a single bedroom so I won't have to be too picky about the aircon that I do decide on.

Almost got me, I did write "window" and not "windows" :)

you never know when you'll need heating and its normally hardly anything extra to get reverse cycle.

Demand is about the same all year round. So just buy what you want now.

    Are you self fitting?

    • Yeah fair enough, if it's under 10% of the product price to get Reverse Cycle (which it seems like) then that's an easy decision.

In that case I'll just wait until we're close to painfully hot days again, and if for some reason there's a clearance or sale I'll snatch one up.

I'll be self fitting yeah. Gotta do a fancy DIY solution as shown in multiple youtube videos for it but I'm used to DIY.

  • It's a shame you cant get the little boxy portable window air cons in Aus, only the giant ones :(

You can 1.6KW Kelvinators and Tecos. Any smaller and it wouldn't work in even a small bedroom.

  • Try a portable AC? the one with the duct out the window

    • *with a duct IN and OUT the window

      • the duct would be for getting rid of the hot air. why would you want to bring in outside air?

You can get a Kelvinator KWH15CME 1.6KW for under $400 year round. I doubt you will find a specific window a/c sale. More likely a general eBay discount or a Good Guys 20% off sale.

    • That's a really good point actually. Guess I'll wait for a general eBay discount until I can no longer bear it when it comes back to summer!
