What's your favorite discontinued food you miss most.
Mine is Cadbury Whip, tasted so much better than Mars.
Used to buy 10 or 20 in one go when they were on special for$1 each.

atomic tomato is still available - only in IGAs though
Don't forget the sachets that they also had for the extra flavour burst.
Vice Versas - always got them when going to the movies.
That sounds familiar - what were they?
white hard choc shell with brown choc inside and vice versa… brown choc shell with white insdie
I think I used to have those - memories! Thanks!
Similar. Kool chocs. Actually all the Kool type of lollies and it had to be in the tin.
Yes! First thing that came to mind when I saw this thread. Thanks.
Maxibon Risk
Dr Pepper (i know you can still find the imports around places, but when scweppes made it here you could get 1.25L bottles for about 70 cents when all the schweppes drinks went on special every 3 weeeks)
trident rice bowls (they were like 2 minute noodle bowls, but made with rice instead, used to be my go to lunch when i was younger and was broke till payday)
DR PEPPER!!!!!!
Was looking for the Dr Pepper post! It is everywhere these days.
I was lucky I had a place near my house that imported them for a reasonable price.
I first got addicted to Dr Pepper when they had their 1 in 2 wins promotion back in about 97 or 98. I think I had about 3 or 4 bottles in a day from that promo. Sugar overload.
I put up a real sugar variety bargain on here ages ago but then the Dublin Dr Pepper factory got sued by the parent company for shipping outside their boundaries and got shut down :(. The parent company decided to give the real sugar version a shot I think but it was never the same so can only find the hfcs variety again.
I feel like a Dr pepper after writing that.
I'm sure woolies stocks sugar dr pepper now in the foreign food section. At least they do proper sugar cherry coke
depends on where the import comes from, the imports from the US use the corn syrup, if you get imports from UK, they use sugar
Coles stock both the US and UK versions of Dr Pepper in their international section (typically near the Asian and Mexican foods)
@ben1980: I have only seen the UK in Woollies and Coles.
IGA's tend to have one or the other, but occasionally I see one with both.
Lol
The Maxibon Risk sounds familiar. How was it different?
you didn't know what flavour you were getting until you opened it, there was mint, chocolate, something like honeycomb
Dr Pepper was the best, especially the 1.25L! Imported cans not the same, although I love the cherry flavour.
Its not quite in the same category as most of the above but I really used to like the chicken satay option at Subway.
I wish they would bring that back.
Subway chicken pizziaola!
can't you still get that if you ask nicely?
If you ask for a pizza sub with extra chicken, that's all it is.
This may not technically fall under the discontinued category as it was never officially mainstream but Root Beer.
Root Beer is so common in the US and so damn rare in Perth.
Bundaberg make it
No they dont? They do ginger beer.
Yes they do? http://www.rootbeerreview.com/bundaberg-root-beer/
Isn't Root beer the same as sarsparilla?
Close enough. Besides, you can get A&W root beer by the case at any Costco.
I bought a 12 pack a couple of months ago. Pretty sure it was at a Coles. Root beer floats….
The Natural Confectionery Co. Jelly Beans
No idea why they discontinued it. Best one from the range. It even had no black jelly beans so no waste.
Yes! Also starburst jelly beans were awesome. Like jelly belly without the weirdo flavours.. I miss them. Only nice jelly beans.
Pink Panthers!
Yes!
I only ever got to have one of these and I would've been 7 or 8, it was in a show bag… 30+ years on and I still remember it's deliciousness!
Bounty Pods!
Oh no! I didn't realise these were gone!
Mint Pods, Vegemite Pies.
Ghirardelli muffin mix. Used to be able to get it when we stayed in the USA. You can get the Brownie mix, which is pretty good, but the muffin mix was better.
Ghirardelli
Pretty sure you can still get that if you drink contaminated water.
Well there products are, generally, brown.
KFC Bean Salad.
THIS !!
KFC potato salad, too!
Plus, was I the only one who liked the bread bun in the dinner meal?
no the bread was awesome to dip in gravy
I used to love Hungry Jacks Sticky date pudding.
Uncle Toby's Choc Dot Krispys
Popcorn Smiths Chips
Kettle Chips Soy and Wasabi flavour - I emailed them asking if they were coming back, but sadly no :(
Fling. Not sure if that's Cadbury or Mars company
Woolies' Caramite ice cream.
Sunny Boys <3 .. (the iceblocks).
Used to win heaps of free ones, with the yellow writing inside.
Great to lay in the middle of the road so cars can squish them.
Home brand raspberry jam. The purest tastiest jam you could buy.
Ski delite yoghurt. Don't know if it is discontinued but I haven't seen any anywhere for a while. My favourite flavours were either vanilla or honey. I worked at a child care centre many years ago and used to steal a little when making the babies' food. All other yoghurts are gross in comparison. Except dairy farmers but that's really expensive
Home brand orange juice - haven't seen it in a while. It could rival just juice and half the price.
used to steal a little when making the babies' food.
So you basically stole from babies.
But it wasn’t candy so it doesn’t count
The saying is more about how easy it is rather than if it is wrong or not :)
Ski available at IGA
Thanks!!
Space Food Sticks (caramel flavour) were the best
Oh man, they were awesome.
We used to stick them in the microwave for 10 seconds and make them gooey. Oh how I miss these.
SO good!
Poly waffle. I miss them so much. Also Choo Choo bars and crazy maze
Grape lifesavers
Toobs!
Aw man, now I totally want a pack
Freddo and Caramelo flavoured milk!
Pizza Pringles
Fags
Lolz, imagine the outrage if they were sold today.
They do still sell them in some lolly shops! Must be an import.
They changed the name to "Fads" late 90's
They still sell these except they call them Fads. Was having a laugh showing my kids how to 'smoke' them recently. They couldn't believe we used to walk around pretending to smoke all the time.
@YTW: And they're yellow too wtf.
they used to sell chocolate cigar lollies as well.
Are they those white candy sticks? like the smaller version of the pink Boss sticks?
Candy cigarettes, with a red centre.
They got banned from my primary school because students in full school uniform kept pretending they were real cigarettes while out on the street, leading to members of the public calling the school to report them for smoking lol.
My sister had a guy try and bum a chocolate cigarette off her once. He thought it was real. She was 10!
Mine banned them in winter because you could see your own breath in the frosty mornings and it really did look like real cigs.
Corn Pops.
The caramel corn version like they still have in Canada. Not the horrible American version.
YESSSSSSSSSSS Corn Pops.
I have a hoard from when a relative visited. Eat sparingly.
If you're willing to pay the price, you could always replenish your stock through usafoods.
No, this is the trap. The US version is not caramel corn, it is a bland, healthy version.
Imagine spending $70 on three boxes of cereal and this version turns up: http://www.usafoods.com.au/Kelloggs-Corn-Pops-17-2oz
You need to track down the Canadian version to replicate the 1990s Australian Corn Pops. And it isn't that easy without going there.
mint vienetta ice cream, when it was a bigger size and more of a challenge to eat in one sitting. i think the same make from when you'd get a vienetta ice cream cake slab from pizza hut circa 1999
Cadbury Dairy Dessert, was the best.
Fruity-bix
Doritos Burn
Dark Chocolate Bounty Bars.
Almond M&M's.
Still buy them when I visit the US but it sucks we don't get it locally.
I know it's not the same but I think there is an Almond M&M block out now.
Those Kmart cookies, Polywaffles and Toobs
Australias Choice?
pauls "twister" icecream cups……
I just spent 10mins searching for this in google. I could find Pauls, but then I noticed the Peters logo change to Pauls colours, so went down that rabbit hole.
I loved those things, do you remember the flavour combos? I remember really preferring the taste of that chocolate sauce more than any other chocolate sauces.
It was such a long time ago, but I remember my fav was mango (I think it had berry with it)
https://i98fm.com.au/images/sized/media/news/160402636352_10…
(profanity) yeah, the syrup stuff in the ice cream was so good.
Kmart Decadent cookies.
Actually, I'm glad they aren't around now. Our household budget was a disaster because of my wife's addiction. :P
Salt and vinegar and atomic tomato were nice.
