70

This might be of interest to people.

I am 50, and desk bound, but drinking this for Breakfast and Lunch, I have managed to lose 28 kilos (26.24% of my starting weight) in under 6 months, with little to no exercise increase.

Pro-tip - mixed with a shot of black coffee makes a nice iced coffee flavour.

Good luck all.

Thank you - was a bit harder than I hoped - but 100 - 200 grams per day and you see results.

Thank you - I have had to add 4 holes to my belt (can't yet bring myself to buy a new one) in the right direction

Yeah damn thats good with no exercise. What do you eat for dinner though or do you skip it?

      • +3

        Meat and Veg

I have cut out bread, potato and rice.

So if the family are having burgers for instance, I have mine wrapped in a lettuce leaf.
Cauliflower Rice (its a thing - look it up) if we are having stew/curry etc

Rotisserie Meat - absolutely love it
Steak - good quality Rib Eye/Scotch. A little less as opposed to more of the Midloin chops I used to have.

I still have some snacks after dinner - a little piece of fruit cake, or a Granny Smith Apple (even the dog now goes nuts for his apple)

I have found it is not about cutting things out - it is about making choices - have a black coffee - have a small snack vs a Latte and no snack, a small piece of dark chocolate vs the whole block of milk chocolate - lol

Not really Rocket Surgery - but not as easy as I had hoped (I still get cravings after almost 6 months)

What I always found interesting was how (mentally) people think it all works the same.
In my weight loss journey, I remember everyone telling me things like I was 'worth the effort' and I'll 'love myself for this later'.

I'm (was) a fat teenager who was teased daily for his weight (+40kg obese).
          I won't love myself tomorrow. I don't think I'm worth it. I'm a piece of shit.

          You know what worked?
I had a genuine close friend who I knew didnt' want to hurt me say "Dude, you're really fat".
Now that I knew that I hated me, AND people who like me (personality) also hate me (physically.
I wasn't alone in hating this body, I had people I cared about agreeing.
NOW it was worth the fight!

Everyone wants you to think positive things; but for me, it was simply about hating myself enough to want to wake up to the person I see when I close my eyes, not the person I see in the mirror.

I still have 10kg to go, but I'm doin' OK :) Lost 37kg. Rebounded 7kg…. now have 10~12 to go.
Only took 25 years of effort to get here. I hope to be healthy by 32yo.

          @MasterScythe:

Keep up the effort - I do not know what else to say - If you need any other advice - or a place to blow off steam PM me.

It is worth it - maybe not in a 'you will love yourself' way because you cannot go from not liking yourself to loving yourself just due to weight loss - but as you pointed out - there are others in the world who would be lesser if you were not in their life - and that care.

I cannot promise great self esteem, I cannot promise overnight success - but by making healthier choices, I can promise that you have a better chance of being around to enrich peoples lives a little longer.

The bottom line is that no matter how many people suggest you get healthier, unless that button is triggered in your own psyche there is no way it will happen.

Live well and as long as your feet always reach the ground, you will be in a better place.

From the ingredients and analysis it looks like a sugary protein shake with some vitamins and minerals thrown in. Wouldn't it be cheaper to make your own protein shakes and buy a pack of multivitamins?

    • LOL - Possibly - would be even cheaper if I was not a F@t B@sta@rd to start with - lol

Or even to not eat would be the cheapest option of all!

    • Correct. SO MANY CARBS!~
I mean, I too lost 35kg with some exercise and shakes, but I dare say using THIS shake, your loss was just from being on a VLCD.
The Protein and Fat levels are far too low, and the carbs are through the roof for it to be suitable for a "desk job shake".

Desk job, means you move little, means you don't burn carbs, means they turn into fat (as they're processed quickly).

Seriously, I don't know how the HELL they're marketing this. It's a little ridiculous.
Honestly? a Glass of MILO is cheaper, and only MARGINALLY worse.

      • I agree - this is more than 50% sugar which will quickly produce an insulin spike and lead to fat storage rather than loss. I can make a large bowl of healthy chicken and vegetable soup for the same amount of kilojoules and far less carbs. You could honestly get the same 'benefits' from eating low fat custard and a vitamin pill - i.e very little. You can do so much better in terms of foods to help you lose weight.

      • Yeah I had minor heart palpitations when I saw the carbs. Its basically 60% sugar!

I dont know how OP is losing weight using this it doesnt make sense.

I also do no excercise and desk job and fast approaching 50yo. I've lost 9kg (just under 10% of total weight) in 6 weeks. Ive got 8kg to go, which will be the hardest. I'm doing Atkins diet so I cant have this shake.

I do have some whey isolate powder from an earlier deal. I dont like the way it separates if it sits for 5 mins, I guess you are meant to skull it. So i mix it with half a scoop of Atkins shake mix, makes it hold its composition better and tastes better. But I only have it once every few days. I dont think I could have it 2 times a day lol, but then its got virtually no carbs.

congrats on the weight loss. Try looking into healthy meals and healthy meal proportions that way you can eventually stop using the shakes without gaining any weight back.

    • LOL - no problems there - even my 'cheat days' I still now do not 'over eat'.

I am well on the path to re-learning eating habits developed in the 70's

For anyone interested in losing weight without restricting food intake, I would highly recommend reading ‘Sweet Poison’ by David Gillespie; the theory being that sugar (specifically fructose) ruins appetite control.

Giving up sugar really helped my dad, he lost 15kg and has kept it off for 6 years.
I have never been overweight myself, but I also gave it up and I’m slimmer now than I was in high school.
