Hi all,
I think I may have stuffed up my purchase for flights today. I was using IWTF to plan my travel to South Korea and picked the cheapest reseller (without thinking), Pricebeat Travel.
I confirmed my booking via their website. Shortly after they gave me a call and asked for more information, passport, drivers licenses, credit card scan front and back etc. I was unable to provide this info as I'm still waiting for my wife's passport and asked them how we could proceed and they said they'll get back to me in half hour.
So during this time I did my research and found terrible reviews with this agency. At this point I didn't really want to deal with them anymore and everything just sounded a bit fishy so was looking at ways I could cancel my booking. At this stage they haven't taken out any money from my credit card.
They contacted me shortly after and told me I didn't need to provide the documents but provide the one time code that the bank issues when someone is trying to withdraw money from the account. I declined to give this to them as I was a bit iffy on this process. I asked if I could cancel and they said it'll cost $50 per person to cancel. I was happy to go through with this to take it as a $100 lesson learnt not to use shoddy sites. They then emailed me asking for me to deposit $100 via bank transfer to complete the cancellation which I also find strange as they haven't even taken my money for the flights yet.
Just want to see what your opinions are on this and see what my chances are on getting free without paying cancellation fee.
Apologies for my bad English, English is my second language.
Thank you in advance.
David
Can I ask, when you were going through the booking process, did you put your credit card details in at all?
