Holy crap this is almost half price!
    But it's a discontinued product.
But if you want a good PQ 16:10 monitor this is gonna be it.

You can also get the U2311H (it's replacement) for $296.65 with the 15% coupon I saw floating around here in the forums (for some reason can't find it anymore) or whirlpool. If you factor in MoneyBackCo cashback it makes it $277.78 (it's a $18.87 cashback)

    • U2311H is $298 at Harris Tech and it was $268 last month…

  • No HDMI?

This monitor was designed back in the day when 16:9 didn't ruin the monitor world, and DVI was king (and still is, HDMI is only handy if you need audio passthrough)

      • Umm isn't DisplayPort better than HDMI or DVI??

        • -1

Yeah but uptake is still slow
Pre built computers are still shipping out with VGA/DVI and most monitors dont take displayport.
Also it's only recent that monitors that take them are churning through so it'll be a year before DisplayPort take over. (ie My secondary monitor doesnt take DVI and I'm not gonna throw that out anytime soon)

But yes, once DisplayPort gets it's foothold it will be king but for now Long Live the King (albeit the aging and dying King)

    • Why?
It is a computer monitor with no speakers and DVI is exactly the same for video as HDMI.

  • Are these new / ex-demo / refurbished? The heading on the webpage says "Preconfigured New and Refurbished"

    • Looks like it is either new or refurbised. I guess the later.

      • No, I took up the exact same deal about half a year ago, if its refurbished, it will clearly say so.

    oh wow IPS
    nice

    ahh its 16:10

    • The way monitors should be!

the monitor is good but not for average home user like me.

    1. price is too high for a 22" monitor nowaday. Many people expect less than $200 for a 22" monitor.
    2. No HDMI + speakerphone for a $230 monitor.
    3. This monitor uses 52Watt on average. Many 22" monitors are using around 30watt. Mine is 22" and it's using 30watt on average.
    • whoops just saw the resolution

price is too high for a 22ā€ monitor nowaday. Many people expect less than $200 for a 22ā€ monitor.

This monitor uses an IPS screen is are more expensive to make.

IPS is much better than the cheaper TN screens which are used in cheaper screens.

FWIW I bought 3 of these about a month ago. What some people do not realize is that they are 16:10 and therefore the vertical dimension, 296mm, is almost exactly the same as a 24" 16:9 monitor. They are fantastic - only really needed 2 but i knew I would eventually want another one so bought the 3rd one at the same time. I bought a soundbar for about $36 which works well. I think the price for an IPS panel is really cheap and the build quality is great. Just my 2c worth

I don't care about size, I care about resolution and this model is way too low..
Get this (http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=au&lā€¦) 1920x1080 for only a little more ($279.20)

    • +2

That monitor is a 16:9 resolution, this is 16:10

      • So? It's still lower-resolution regardless of ratio!
I think there's a confusion between quantity and quality here - (pixel) pitch represent (display) quality, size and ratio represents quantity. Size isn't related to quality.
Anyone for a 1024x768 in 40" - Hitachi used to make these (16:9) plasmas?

    • How is 1680 x 1050 way too low? The difference between that and full HD isn't very big :/

      • Let's see, 1920x1080=2073.6K pixels; 1680x1050=1764K pixels is 17.5% more pixels for 4.5% increase in diagonal for 21% increase in price.

        • Which still doesn't explain why you think 1680 x 1050 is "way too low"

        • It's not enough to fit a 1920x1080 video. Duh.

  • how do buy this monitor?
    over the phone?

    • Yeah you need to ring them.

  • Why does the link go through s2d6.com?

  • do you need to have a special account or anything to order these? looks like corporate site
