Community Announcement - How to Get Online Deals Without Waiting For Shipping Time Tip

Hi,

Today I bought a new graphics card with the 15% off code.

I wanted something that works with my Freesync monitor so I upgraded from my Nvidia 1050ti. Yes, I'm still spending copious amounts of cash trying to get better at a 12 year olds' game (see previous post for context).

Problem is I can't pick it up from Computer Alliance, even though their store is 5 mins from my work, their policy states that they need to ship it. They won't match eBay's price in store too.

I've done this trick a few times, pretty obviously but thought I'd share it.

I buy from eBay at the discounted price. Then buy in store at the regular price. Once the eBay item comes, I return it with the receipt from when I bought in store….

Simple really, but effective.

Assuming they have a relaxed change of mind policy….

    Stupid really, but effective.

You are welcome. I also save money buy consuming food a few days past its expiry date. Simple, but effective. Never had an issue. Happy to help out the community in anyway I can.

        • @The Wololo Wombat: I didn't even know food had expiry dates.

Surprised this was titled as a 'hack'.

I buy from eBay at the discounted price. Then buy in store at the regular price. Once the eBay item comes,

Until they change the return policy on you, and you're stuck with both

Why not use the Computer Alliance address, get the item sent there and then go to pick it up.
