eBay Plus Is Free Postage Not?

Sorry for channelling Yoda for a sec there, just wondering if I've been punked by ebay.

Sop I shelled out for the EBAY plus membership on the expectation that I'd save some postage costs. This morning I was looking for a product, it was $37.95 plus $7 postage. Then I remembered EBAY plus to I did a search on EB+ stores and I found the same store with the same product, listed as an EB+ store and it was $44.95 with FREE POSTAGE! Which is the same price as the non EB+ price?

Am I missing something somewhere? (And don't say 'brain cells' either)

Free Postage

There is no such thing as 'free postage'. Someone is paying for postage in one way or another!

Remember the seller has to ship the item (and pay for postage), pay GST on the sale, then 10% fees to ebay and 2-3% to paypal if you pay that way as well.

The 'costs' add up very very fast!

It is only for affiliated stores. Either one you are paying for shipping.
Personally I don't like this free shipping business as it's a way to slug customers with additional costs.

    the reason they were that price was cause the seller gamed the system, dont expect it to come back any time soon.

Free postage for selected sellers on selected items.
I've found with Computer Alliance that items under $15 are not ebay plus items.
Not sure what the rule is it could be postage has to be lower than the item (Computer Alliance is $15 flat postage) or maybe $15 is the lowest for all sellers.

Sorry for the bad news, I just joined eBay Plus 3 month trial in Australia and I am concerned.
A quick search in Australia on several items revealed the following.
SSD drive search, 1,646 items found for eBay Plus members and all offered free shipping except 1 member.
Dresses under Women's Clothing search, found 97,038 for eBay Plus members and all offered free shipping except 2 members.

I currently have 54 items for sale, a mixture of DVD's, CD's, books, stationary and most have "pay for shipping", 5 don't.
I have to wait 24 hours before eBay Plus is active and I will report back, that should be interesting!
