Has anyone else got charged the early pay out fee for moving from virgin to Optus. I had five months left remaining on my plan and was told they would pay it out and I’ve just received a $178 bill

Ah so you'll probably have a good chance if you call them. However if you called up and the operator said that…id say you have a harder time.
Call them and explain what's happened first.

They aren’t 24/7 like Optus and Telstra. Have to wait until the morning
Wait - usually it's the company getting the business that pays it out. So in this case Optus. Are you sure the one you saw wasn't for Virgin to pay for incoming customers' ETFs?
OPtus are HOPELESS I've been promised many things by them before, they always deliver, but you have to chase them up…
If you signed up with one of the plans they offered to you through the offers then they'll waive the cancellation fee. Just give them a call.
If you just signed up for one of their regular plans, they don't waive the fee but I'd still give them a call to waive it anywaysThanks guys. I called them and they apologized. This post was mainly for other people as well to check if they’d been charged.
If you are 6 months or under they should waive the fee if you use the promo link for the Virgin/Optus change over plans.
Have you got any evidence saying they'll pay it out?
