Which Electric Toothbrush?

So finally making the plunge to get an electric toothbrush after getting hit with a big dental bill. Looking to spend around 250 but will spend what i need if that's more or less and want something bang for buck. I want something which purely has great function and don't care for the gimmicks like bluetooth etc. Not sure whether to get an oral b or a sonic care etc. Ideas?

Cheers

The consensus on OzBargain I believe would say Sonicare, but actually after originally switching over from Oral-B, I personally prefer Oral-B.

For some reason, maybe it's because I've become so used to the coarseness of Oral-B's line of electric toothbrushes (they oscillate rather than push sonic vibrations), I build up an impressive level of plaque on my DiamondClean, and I've tried to give it the benefit of the doubt for over a year now.

Maybe the community can chime in and provide you with some more insight, but for me personally, Oral-B + flossing has been more effective for me in contrast to Sonicare + flossing.

    • I like my oral B (was $100 from shaver shop at "half-price", but likely a routine special).

added bonus, the dentist gives me a $5 replacement head at each 6 monthly clean/check.

      • Which one is it? Big W have the oral B 4000 for $100 at the moment.

        • looks like the pro 2 2000 that carlJack linked to below.

          .

  • One without rubber/silicone on it, that's where the mould grows

haven't used Sonicare, but whole family uses Oral-B and have been very happy. There's regular specials on here that put even the most expensive OralB well within your price range.

    • Which model do you use?

  • Sonicare all the way….like a jet engine in your gob

  • Sonicare is the leader.

I got this one about 6 months ago and it's very good

  • Sonicare DiamondClean - was on special with the airfloss for $199 in the amazon prime sale, but usually goes for $299 on it's own.

GF is a dentist and recommends this as the best if you're happy to pay the money, although she uses Oral B and is happy enough with that (she gets them free every now and again.

Have to say using the sonicare, my teeth felt a lot cleaner after the first use, although it takes a couple of times to get used to the sensation as it's super sensitive at first.

  • Oral-B 3000 is good value
