  • Thanks, copped a black one. Now can finally make use of my Xiaomi USB Light.

    • Dont forget to recharge these in your car or DIY solar panel. 'Free' electricity was Tesla dream…

    • That's what I've been using one for next to my bed for ages probably could look at getting a proper lamp one day.

    • +1

      Copped a big one eh?

      • mateoka is never going back

  • Anyone still not received theirs from like 2 weeks ago? This deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/390187

    • Yes only took a few days

    • I got mine the other day.

    • Mine's arrived.
I was advised that there was no safe drop available, so you may have to sign for it at the post office if you missed the delivery. That's what happened to me.

    • I got mine shoved into the letter box. it came in a white envelope, and terrifyingly without any form of shock absorbing materia.

      • The cardboard box is good enough :) apparently

    Will wait for more reduction

Anyone remember the days when the savings would have bought 1 & 1/3 of a soft serve?

  • Cheers OP.
FYI - There is a limit of 2 per Ebay account at this stage.

  • I can't seem to fast charge 2 phones at the same time. Fast charging only seems to work with one phone connected. Is this normal?

    • +1

      Yes

    • so both phones are charging at normal speeds? or is one just fast charging, and the other normal charging?

      • Both charging at normal speeds.

Standard with Xiaomi/ZMI power banks. It'll QC2 one port and revert back to 5V on the other if both are in use.

  • Does anyone know how long these hold charge for? Bought one for my mum as she’s a bit old and hopeless with tech. Wondering if it’s safe and practical for her to keep in her cars glove box. Cheers.

I have the original 5000mAH version (which I am planning to sell… heh) and it's held its charge for over 6 months.

      • That’s reassuring! Looking good. Thanks for the feedback.

      • As has mine since release many years ago.

As with all electronic and battery i wouldnt advise leaving any in heat in your cars. Maybe in winter etc but they'll probably end up leaving it in there.

  • How many times would this charge a Redmi Note 3 Pro? Thinking of using @ camping.

    • 2

    • My guess is 2-3 times.

    • Redmi note 3 pro has a 4000 mAh battery.
      This power pack holds 10000mAh.
      In theory 2.5 charges.

I would say 2 charges given it is not true 10000mAh.

      • Isn’t it 10,000mAh but it needs to use energy to charge also so you never get the full capacity to charge with. Or have I got that wrong?

        • I didn't think it's 100% efficient when transferring but it's pretty close.

        • +2

I think this article could help. The actual number of full charge it can provide to your devices is much lower than you think :)
          https://www.myusbgifts.com/single-post/2017/05/04/How-many-t…

        • What voltage are these 20,000ma? Phone batteries ate 3.7v. Are the power bank s measured at 3.7v or 5v?

  • Hey guys, mild OT: Can anyone suggest one of these at a bigger capacity? I'd like to get one for my Dad who travels on the road a fair bit, with a laptop and other mobile devices. Something that can take charge in the car as he is on the road a lot, he has solar set up for his long trips. Cheers.

    • This one expired deal but you can find it on Gearbest: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/386739

    • I'd recommend one of these:
      https://klgadgetguy.com/2017/07/28/xiaomi-zmi-10-20000mah-po…
Bit more expensive but damn its good to get 45watts which charges your mac book and any of those new laptops that charge via usbc (x1 carbon, xps etc) plus you can use it as a usb hub.

      • Unfortunately the Xiaomi ZMI10 are difficult to find/get in Australia. Most place don't ship to Australia anymore. Only place I found that ship to Australia is Banggood, and they are currently out of stock.

EDIT: Also apparently they discontinued the 20000mah (QB820) and replaced it with the 15000mah (QB815)

  • Never bought a power bank before. Are these any good? What about the concerns around security/privacy?

    • It just a battery. Nothing to be suspicious about.

      • Thanks mate cheers

    • What concerns exactly?

      • Idk just heard bad things about chinese tech coys in general but in hindsight I was probably over-worried. Cheers mate.

  • Need a Deal on USB C Powerbanks :(

    • Can't you just plug a USB C type cable into a regular powerbank?

      • I think he means one that charges itself via USB C, so you can use the same cable to charge your phone and your power bank

  • Thanks OP, grabbed one..

  • The price seems to be back @ $23.99? Or do we need a code? God, just missed it :(

    • +1

Get it from Gearbite instead if you want :)

  • Can you get em from their Sydney store?
