  why do these screen protectors cut off the top section and also have the rubbish black frames around it -_-

    You probably won't be able to see the black frame once it's on the phone.

    Because screens are slightly rounded these days, I think some glass screen protectors have black edges so you can't see how the edge of the protector slightly lifts up of the screen. It looks neater this way

    To not cover the camera and sensors.

    The black frames are where the original black frames are, though I agree they are redundant. Maybe they are to guide you on where to place them, but then the phone needs to be on for you to see it.

    It's not recommended you buy tempered glass protectors for curved screens in any case.
