Hi
I am new to this AFL game and would like to choose a team. I have just signed up on AFL website.
Which team would you recommend?
I am from Perth, WA
My question should be, which team is competitive and fun to watch….
Thanks

Manchester United
West Coast Eagles
If you don't pick Collingwood you'll be fine.
Came here for this
Whoever picked Carlton is a glutton for punishment.
West Coast Eagles or Freemantle.
You will enjoy games more with the same supporters around…
I'm not surprised Essendon were high

(on the list).
I voted West Coast for the same reasons as dasher86, but consider the local WAFL. I know the crowds and atmosphere is not the same, but it might be more fun.
It's going to be the blues' turn….sometime in the future.

No matter what sport you should always go for your local team.
Gotta be either Eagles or Dockers. Seeing them play at Optus stadium is incredible.
It’s a good time to be an Eagles fan, and while it might be a bit rough for the Dockers at the moment, they’re going to be pretty awesome in a year or two.
(I’m an Eagles fan).
Start your own team and support them
The OzBargain Eneloops
Theres A GWS supporter group in Perth, they catch up to watch the games if that takes your fancy.
This sounds like a good idea.
Both of them?
which men do you think look better in hot pants? you should be asking yourself this question
If that is your criterian then the OP is probably best looking at the American NFL. They don't call them "tight ends" for nothing.
I support North Melbourne but I don't live in Victoria, so you don't necessarily have to be in the same State as your team.
If you want competitive and fun, then Richmond are the team to follow and potential back-to-back Premiers.
However, as you live in Perth, I suggest you go to all of the remaining home games of both Freo and the Eagles, that is what I would do. Watch how they play, the reaction of their supporters and follow the developments in the off-season, particularly with player-list management. Hopefully by the start of the 2019 season, you've been able to choose a team of your own.
Thanks
Sydney Swans
Watch for a while, then make up your own mind.
I follow Carlton and have been doing since I arrived in Australia in 1974. Carlton are the most successful club in VFL/AFL History although right at the moment we're bottom of the ladder and losing a lot. The exciting bit is that we have basically cleaned out an old team and are starting again with talented kids. Right now our kids are being pushed around by bigger opponents every week but as they get stronger and fitter the tables will turn. The wheel will turn. When i was a kid it was Sydney, western Bulldogs and St Kilda that were thrashed every week. Not so long ago it was Hawthorn losing every week. The tables turn and watching the young blues climb up the table will be exciting.
