        • They should be charging GST for all stock in Australia. I don't know how they have gotten away with their local shipping for the last few years, let alone now that it is very unfair to those shipping from overseas.

Came here to warm people about (they're the same mob)
    - Discount Brands Australia
    - knives online
    - Chalet Online

Even though they have heaps of positive feedback, check their ebay negative feedback about providing a fake tracking numbers via couriers please then sending a dummy parcel with tracking via auspost to a random address in your suburb so eBay sides with the seller.

I tried reporting them to eBay but they continue to operate…

They actually have at least 5 different stores on Ebay which I could identify. Purchased a knife sharpener on one of the last 20% sale and received a message about 2 days later they use Couriers Please (absolute worse courier you could use in my area) and wouldn't deliver to Auspost parcel collect address. In other listings, they state they use Auspost so unsure why they were insisting to use Couriers Please (they wouldn't say why and ignored my questions which was frustrating). I suggested they might as well cancel the order if they won't deliver to the parcel collect address - which they processed the cancellation within 5 minutes. It seemed to me they were looking to get out of the sale and jumped on the opportunity immediately.

The interaction I had with them made me highly suspicious and gave weight to the negative feedback they have. I won't buy from them in the future and would be extremely careful from inadvertently ordering through one of their numerous aliases.

From my experience, I bought from discountbrandsaustralia* eBay store and then they send a separate email outside of eBay from chaletessentials.com.au with a couriers please tracking number which would never track.

A person named "Sammy Jones" was replying to the emails saying they would follow up with Couriers please but never did (multitude of excuses).

So I filed a dispute on eBay and then all of a sudden the eBay tracking details changed to Australia Post, where they send a fake parcel to the same suburb. But luckily eBay sided with me and I got my refund. Another person didn't get their refund because eBay see it being delivered to the same suburb as the recipient and close the case….nice scam.

@ATD - can you please list their other stores as well? I don't want anyone else from the OzBargain community to get scammed from these guys.

@Mods - it would be nice if their stores can be omitted from the listing/search links. Happy to send more evidence if required.

        • seems strange looking at the feedback they do have mostly completed sales, they must use this scam when they have an issue with stock etc

        • Sorry, I didn't record the different stores, but I do recall spotting that many. I would closely examine the listing and compare it with these guys to get an idea if they are one and the same.

    • Sounds like all knives are out?

    • Don't disagree with you - but I advise that everyone should pay by Credit Card when makig purchases on ebay with Paypal. If anything goes wrong, simple, call your bank and do a Credit Card charge back. Don't let Paypal/ebay bullsh|t you around.

    • Not only that, they use to say they don't grey import. Strange that they then sell products that aren't actually available through the Australian distributor. Looking now they have dropped that wording and changed to "We only stock 100% authentic brand names" so be careful as warranty may have to be provided by themselves versus official channels.

  • Not sure how much longer these will last for. Majority of these sellers boost their prices up the extra 10% or so they need to cover for the 20% off. May as well just make it a 10% off sale.

    • Except the seller doesn't need to cover the 20%.

      • They have to cover a percentage of the discount.

  • +1

People complaining about price jacking. Just don't buy it then. There will always be stores who don't price jack, and they end up with +50 upvotes on Ozbargains front page.

    • Pretty much those are the only ones worth looking

      You are a legend Sir!

    • It's crazy how eBay cannot or has not had this magic search whenever there's a deal going on. Imagine how much money they'd have made by adding this on a sale page

      • I think they did once upon a time.

      • They actually do have it occasionally, it's normally half way down the list of their categories/promo shit on the main page. Not sure why they don't have it every time though…

    • Something is wrong. One of more of the sellers isn't right.
Also I'm getting a warning about being redirected from ebay.com.au to elsewhere…

  • In before… No computer alliance.. No deal?

    • +1

      Also… wait… you're not TA?

      • +1

You know I suspect some of these prices have been increased to make the discounts seem bigger..

  • +2

It's never an eBay sale without Futu/Pc Byte <3

    Jack will be back.

    is TA on leave?

    • +1

He deserves long service leave after all the deals he posted on OZB =D

  • No PC byte?

    FTW WTF /s.

    • They need to replenish stock from previous sale, so they Jack up the price next sale.

  • This relentless assault on discounting and price jacking needs to stop. Just stop!

  • No local stock Nokia 7 plus. Damn

  • Just prey they all have time to jack there prices up before the sale starts, wouldn't want any bargains to pop through

    • Thoughts & prey’ers?

  • 25% off for eBay Plus members?

  • Can someone please let me know if they see a PS4 Pro or Ps4 games for sale under the discount? Thanks!

    • Wait for next Prime day.

Actually they have had xbox and PS4 deals similar a couple of times this year, so you might be lucky if patient.

      • the recent Prime day was fkin BS, the stuffs I wanted sold out in under 30 seconds

  • The need to make more deals for eBay plus members to prove its worth keeping it for $29 a year.

Make normal 25% off and 30% off for members sounds about right

    • The starting price would just go up to match.

  • I'm mentally and financially spent with all these amazing deals. Bowing out of this one, my wallet can't take it anymore.

  • +3

I see Sony are still trying to offload refurbished TV's at a higher price than what retailers have sold them brand new, such as the KD49X7000E

If you're reading this Mr Sony - get your shit together.

    • He passed away a while back.

      • A while back yea, 1997/1999 just a few years ago :P

  • I remember last sale a bunch of people were raving about the Zzz Atelier Outlet Store mattresses, is there a particular one that I should be looking at getting?

  • No Dans :-(

  • +2

More unopened micro SD and SSD to add to the pile.

    • +1

just a normal sized SD would be good. not sure why its MicroSD's everywhere here!

      • Use an adapter.

  • Anyone bought from Revcom before?

I can see some of their products are listed as brand new but a purchase from them was sent to Comsale Ptd Ltd, which apparently sells refurbished brand name products. Anyone have experiences with them?

    • All I know is they pricejack.

  • Any good dashcam deals?

    • I'm hanging out for a good deal on a dash cam too. DR900S-2CH to be exact. dashcamsaustralia, sportgps or streetsoundvision need to be included in one of these deals!

    • Yeah waiting for this too.

  • +2

    A huge warning regarding Sparesbox.

The last time they had the 20% I bought some basic filters etc. it took them over 1 month before anything happened.

I had to go through eBay for a refund. Also had to hassle them over social media to actually get a response.

Item's weren't even rare. It was for Toyota's mass produced v6 lol.

    • I got an air filter for my Subaru, 3 days click to door.

  • is the code working now? it can't apply to my order.

    • +1

      it works.

      • Maybe it can't apply to certain items that have discounted from the seller.

        • Is your account and address registered within Australia?

  • -1

What a noob. I ordered 2x Dell U2717D's last week with PROXY and was positive that they were to arrive on Wednesday (yesterday). Looked today and found out I didn't end up purchasing them - today PROXY is dead and PARKA is only 20% 😭.

Oh well, time to wait for another bargain.

    • Dell have specials on some monitors at the moment, but probably not as good a price.
Dell will price match, and if you add Shopback's 10% cash back on Dell purchases, it might work out similar or better.
I think the Dell direct specials end today.

      • Cheers - the price is nowhere near as good. Will buy when I can get them for under $500 each.

        • Bugger, Shopback have dropped the Dell cash back to 4%. It was 10% earlier.
          Anyway, you might have misunderstood.
eg Futu have the U2717D for $750-20%=$600
Signup to Shopback or Cashrewards for the 4% back on Dell purchases.
Get Dell Aust to match the $600, then you get 4% cash back.
Total $576 each vs $562.50 each with the previous 25% off.

The Red search link on the ebay deal page does not work for me. It might be worth adding Bavan's link to the deal post.

    • +1

Once you click on the red search link, click on Advanced in the top right corner & that search worked for me.

      • +1

Thanks, yeah that worked, and no more people trying to sell their second hand gear.
Pretty incompetent that the button is broken. They don't want to make it easy for people to buy .
