West Coast Auto Wash Perth Scoopon - Bad Service

Bit of a heads up if you see deals from West Coast Auto Wash in Perth.

I purchased a Scoopon from them on January 13 for a $29 deluxe mobile car wash. Since then I've not been able to get in touch with them - all the numbers provided on the Scoopon go to a message bank that simply states they are experiencing high demand and to email them for a booking. I've now been emailing them for 3 weeks with not a single response.

I have actually seen the exact same deal up again on Scoopon since I purchased the original deal - so if you see anything from West Coast Auto Wash and are tempted to buy - I would suggest you stay well away.

I have emailed Scoopon to ask for a refund - hopefully they will be able to provide some help.

So you are saying that you paid $58 (FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS) to get a 4WD washed? And it took you 2 months?

      You are kidding, right?

Even $29 for a car wash is a rip off!

llama it was a "bronze" car wash in and out. usual price $95 and yes i paid $58.

        • WOW - car washing sounds uber-expensive over the west side! Here in Sydney the normal price for a station wagon (eg: Falcon) inside and out would be about $25-30… maybe $35 max.

I think issh's definition of 'given up' means merely stop trying to call/make appointments with WCAW and start spamming Scoopon for refunds!

Thanks for your difinition CuteChocobo, as you will see from the previous posts, although Scoopon have refunded 2 people, they are no longer refunding due to an extention in the expiry of this service. Hence my persistence with West coast auto wash. What difference does it make if i'm "spamming" Scoopon or Trying to contact the seller? I am still spent way to much time dealing with this crap. My main purpose for becoming a member on this site was to warn others of this scam. West coast auto wash AKA A-glaze are still advertising vouchers on these discount websites.

llama you really need to do your home work the standard rate for a regular car clean is $60, and i know of professional cardetailers in you area that charge this or more, iwas doing you prices a bout three years ago,Also $25_$30 buy the time you take of labour , tax, gst, chemicals, plus insurance is it worth getting out of bed . CHEAP IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD

    • llama You really do need to do your homework…. I google searched car washes in your area and the general price for a ford territory (as my car is) Is about $120-$150….. and a regular car between $60-$100…. nowhere did i find car cleaning for the price you state! I guess it sux when people can research the facts so easily online :)

Hi, I also bought one on scoopon and same deal, no answer on the phone and no reply to my email. I have contacted scoopon and reply was gift coupon to someone else????? Drove to the place of business today and guess what? no one there, no business. Spoke to security guard and was told lots of people looking for them and no one there, so have contacted scoopon again to get a refund of my money. Hopefully they will do the right thing and make a refund.

    • Go to Briggs street Osbourne park, there are people there as i was only there last week. Ignore the sign on the outside wall and walk in……

kgea…did you try to find the location at Osborne Park. We have just tried (because all else has failed, ie numerous phone calls and emails) and all we found was a parking lot!!! It sounds like you tried the same place.
I have just read (kathwilson777) that they are no longer refunding due to the extention, I purchase the Scoopons to go to my nearest depot ie Osborne Park..I do not want to travel to their other suburb, which is kms away from my home.
So, who is keeping all this money??? Is it Scoopon? Are they hoping people will just give up with this scam and look who comes out richer :( NOT ME! This won't go away - I do not like being RIPPED OFF.!!!!! This is smelling like fraud. Extending the deadline is not an acceptable way of dealing with this. Scoopon has a lot to answer for - did they not do their homework with just the logistics of the # scoopons sold to the hrs in the day.??? I will definitely NEVER, NEVER purchase anything from Scoopon again and I will freely tell everyone about this rip off.

    • Your right….. don't give up…. if everyone gave up with a scam like this it would keep happening. Jemma I don't think u will get a refund from scoopon. It's probably best to go to small claims and get your money back or send an email to the guys email address i posted previous…… Good luck

  • I emailed scoopons with my complaint and have just received a prompt (which I was appreciative) reply offering a full refund, I don't wish to be pessimistic at this stage and will remain optimistic….. but there is a time limit that I will accept for my full refund. Fingers crossed!! I will never, never give up or let this go away. I purchased these (like everyone else) in good faith and except the same respect. I don't totally blame Scoopon, I think they have been duped too, but serves to be a lesson for them ie make sure the business can live up to the deal in a reasonable time frame before advertising and can physically perform the service.

  • Have now received both of my refunds from Scoopons for the Car Wash. They were very efficient in handling my request.

  • Hi all. I had my car washed, detailed and treated with Aglaze Paint Protection yesterday by WCAW in Osborne Park. This was the $89 deal for $750 worth of product/service. It took one lady an hour to do the entire job which was supposed to include a car wash, chamois dry, paint protection AND glass treatment to repel rain. The glass treatment was a $25 extra. The car was quite dirty also, so the wash and dry would've taken me at least 30 minutes to do well. So the rest of the treatment would've been complete in 30 minutes.

There is NO WAY this deal was worth $750. Then I checked the Aglaze website and it says that application of Aglaze should only take "a few hours by a trained Aglaze technician". Clearly I've not received the proper Aglaze treatment. The car looked good at the end, but the paint surface did not feel or look any different to after I wash it with normal car shampoo. So I've basically paid $89 + $25 for a car wash and I feel completely ripped off.

I have written to Scoopon to complain and will see what their response is.

    • Keep us in the loop.

      • Scoopon's response is rather disappointing:

"We appreciate your feedback as we are always working toward offering our customers an optimum experience.

However as you have already redeemed your Scoopon and Scoopon are not directly involved with the redemption process, we kindly direct you back to the deal provider in order to communicate your feedback and gain resolution."

Now it's time to see if my credit card provider can help.

  • Go to the Dept of Consumer Protection here in WA. They are actually pretty proactive here and a complaint form doesn't take long to fill out.

    http://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/ConsumerProtection/PDF/Forms/C…

With all the work you have done in regards to this matter, this form will be the least of it and will cause the most notice from the company involved.
