[VIC] Fromager D'Affinois Clearance $4.97 (Normally ~ $22) @ Costco Docklands (Membership Required)

90

This cheese normally is around $22,there was a ticket behind this one but I forgot to get a picture of it.
Cheese expiry is 18th and 24th (not that that matter but they will take it off the shelf before then)

Apparently the 7 at the end of a price indicated clearance at Costco or something like that, the highlighting also indicates this.

Not sure if at other stores.

I don't think Costco really do this in response to other shops, they just have their prices and do what they want - if something isn't selling they reduce it heavily and if it nears use-by and it's expensive they try and recoup costs.
Keep in mind this post is for 454g not 200g like Aldi, so $4.97 for more than double is very nice.

      • Costco may not have had a choice in this matter - if consumers are choosing Aldi cheese, then it makes sense that Costco are left with a lot more D'Affinois than expected. Then as you say, if it isn't selling, time to discount and recoup costs.

Nonetheless, it's definitely good value for money at this price!

  • French cheese?

Does it take a dive ?

This is awesome rich cheese, Usually on clearance when the product is nearing the product expiry date. Usually this type of product doesn't have a long shelf life.

Went today at lunctime only to find it was back to full price. They had a lot of new stock with a used by of 31/07

    • That's disappointing, they must've thrown a lot out, what a waste!
