  • I was looking at buying one about a year ago, and it was going to cost about $80 on eBay, shame I got rid of my monitor now i guess =[

These seems like a great price thou.

  • external tv box is better than using internal pc tv tuner card. no need to have the pc.
but $19.95? its under cost or what!?

  • These are older analogue tuners, not digital. That's why there is no widescreen and why they are so cheap, it's just old technology. Still looks like a great way to make use of an older monitor without needing a PC attached, as long as you aware of it's limitations.

    • Exactly. Those are good for making your old CRT monitors useful again, but no substitute for a proper digital set top box.

  • Max resolution is 640 x 480 which is TINY. Do not even consider this if you have an LCD or plasma TV. As they state you need the next model up for that, which is $159.

  • Shipping cost to WA $18. Almost the price of the TV tuner itself. :(

  • try adding a usb stick and it goes up a further $15. their shipping rate is not cheap despite the discount for combined shipping.

  • WARNING - it's pretty poor resolution at "Resolution - 640 * 480" so don't expect anything great.

Although it does put a link for the better resolution version.

    • What exactly are you whining about for? Standard analogue TV resolution of a PAL signal is 352x288.

  • Make a very cheap Standard Definition Digital LCD TV.

When we upgraded to 22" monitors we had some 17" LCD screens sitting around looking pretty, but doing nothing.

We bought a SD Digital Set Top Box on special (about $29.95 I think) and simply connected it to a monitor.

We only had to buy a cable adapter to connect the STB output to the monitor input.
