Hi everyone
i looking to get the Oppo A73 for my mum but doesn't seem like there is any good deals out there at the moment. The Optus locked models are all around the $250 mark and JB is selling the unlocked for $299. I have previously seen it go below $200 for the locked model. Does anyone know where else i can get it for below $200? i don't mine if its locked as i can just get it unlock from ebay.

Don't get it locked if you intend to use it for telstra, even unlocked the 850mhz band is permanently disabled so you wont be able to use telstra simcards.
I( think there's a workaround which you have to do everytime the phone is restarted but that's a huge pain in the ass.$295.00 free shipping https://www.allphones.com.au/oppo-a73-cph1725-gold
I bought one for my daughter $199 at Big W a couple of months ago, I think an unlock code on ebay was about $19 or so. If you can wait they are sure to go on sale again.
Looking at past deals they were sub $200 twice in July and $200-220 a few times in May, can't be long till another drop.I can confirm that the offer @ $199 at Woolworths is still going, even though the sale date has passed. My local at Merrylands scanned it and it shows up as $199 on the register. Just go to Officeworks and get them to price match and get their 5% off after that and get an unlocked A73 for $189. With any luck, they won't ask the Woolies staff member if it's locked or not :-)
Can you provide me with a link so that i can ask office work to price match?
There's probably no point showing them the link as it states the sale has ended. It was posted here on 03.09.18:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/400813The photo in the link states that it's only available in store, but take a screenshot of the photo in the link and show Officejerks that, and hope they don't notice the part where is says it's locked. They will have to ring the store to confirm anyway.
I'll be trying this myself in the next couple of days, so, good luck to the both of us. No big deal if you can't get OW to price match/beat it, as it's still a great buy even at $199.
If you end up getting it from Woolies and need it unlocked, just follow this procedure:
Enter #800# to open the MTK engineering settings.
Go to Telephony> Bandmode> SIM1 and enable the 850 band mode by checking the box and pressing SET.Now enter #39757# and it pops up a message, reboots itself…. and now should be Network Unlocked.
No need to buy a 16 digit Ebay unlock code assigned to your IMEI… the phone will work fine on all networks, but from what I understand it will revert back to locked after a factory reset.
That phone is a new release
$299 seems to be the standard price (JB, Vodafone etc) for unlocked models.
